"Battered Bastards" help for Axis player

Command Ops: Battles From The Bulge takes the highly acclaimed Airborne Assault engine back to the West Front for the crucial engagements during the Ardennes Offensive. Test your command skills in the fiery crucible of Airborne Assault’s “pausable continuous time” uber-realistic game engine. It's up to you to develop the strategy, issue the orders, set the pace, and try to win the laurels of victory in the cold, shadowy Ardennes.
Command Ops: Highway to the Reich brings us to the setting of one of the most epic and controversial battles of World War II: Operation Market-Garden, covering every major engagement along Hell’s Highway, from the surprise capture of Joe’s Bridge by the Irish Guards a week before the offensive to the final battles on “The Island” south of Arnhem.

"Battered Bastards" help for Axis player

Post by decaro »

I am having a very hard time getting any kind of victory as the Axis in this scenario; the mech reinforcements can't get into Bastogne even though they appear directly on a main highway north of the city, and when I finally did get an entire German command into Bastogne from the East, I did so poorly that a German staff car was waiting to take me to Valhallah at game's end.

Any suggestions?

Ive got a personalised number plate on one of those staff cars the amount of times I've been in one.

Not had a go at Battered Bastards yet! But made a total mess of many others! tough but great fun!
All the best

When you figure it out, let me know. I got a marginal defeat. I didn't try to take Bastogne until KG Mauk arrived, and I tried to use KG 901 to try and stop the 4th AD. Didn't work.

I just try to delay the Allies advancing from the South, and I got the whole 901 into Bastogne on the last day, but to no avail as it was quickly surrounded.

I try to use a full court press around the city, but the Axis units to the North move only reluctantly, and the first units from the East into Bastogne were quickly cut-off and destroyed in detail; I was impressed how the AI came back into the city after being somewhat suckered to its periphery.

Especially since the VG divs are craptastic in comparison.
