Command Ops: Battles From The Bulge takes the highly acclaimed Airborne Assault engine back to the West Front for the crucial engagements during the Ardennes Offensive. Test your command skills in the fiery crucible of Airborne Assault’s “pausable continuous time” uber-realistic game engine. It's up to you to develop the strategy, issue the orders, set the pace, and try to win the laurels of victory in the cold, shadowy Ardennes.
Command Ops: Highway to the Reich brings us to the setting of one of the most epic and controversial battles of World War II: Operation Market-Garden, covering every major engagement along Hell’s Highway, from the surprise capture of Joe’s Bridge by the Irish Guards a week before the offensive to the final battles on “The Island” south of Arnhem.

Question....

Post by GBS »

What is the purpose of the warning that a unit's strength is to low to perform the order given it? I have noticed arty units given a bombard order to show this warning and then go ahead with the bombardment any way. makes me wonder if other units attempt to execute an order even when this warning is given.
Is the warning given automaticly when a unit's % strength drops below a certain threshold?
Is it simply a warning to the player that a particular unit's strength is low?
If so can it be turned off?

Thanks in advance.

I think that the 'below strength' message is just a warning that your unit is some % less than full strength, and little really to do with it's ability to get the job done.

Some of these 'routine' warnings are a bit annoying, like "unit has completed it's move" just by passing a waypoint and "unable to complete it's move" just because you changed it's order. You can change your warning level to 'urgent' by the toggle.

That is extremely annoying.
It serves no purpose.
It first it makes me think the move was stopped by an unforseen circumstance.
I have to waste time investigating.

?

I for once appreciate to know if a unit is unable to execute and fullfill its order, and add to my situational awareness.

A rule of thumb says that a unit counts as out of action if it has suffered more than 30% losses on personnel and equipment. What is the strenght level in Bftb when the commanders starts to complain?

You miss-understand.

Give a unit an order and before it completes the order you have new information and so you give it a new order.

I get a message "unable to complete the first order". It is annoying.
