Map Maker: What are DEMs?

Post by junk2drive »

MM uses DEM information to create the 3D terrain for maps in PC.

Here is the site with an explanation of DEM and links to get DEMs for anywhere on earth that has been mapped.

The game comes with DEMs for the East Front areas.

I use DEM's in GIS (Geography Information Systems). They are called Digital Elevational Models. So do you have to import them in MM by layering them over the terrian maps?

The DEM zips are stored in a folder in the game. When using MM it gets the info from the zip to make the 3D mesh.

Yes.

Once you import them the game saves them and uses them to lay over the terrain maps.

Good Hunting.
