Allied AF behind german lines..

Eagle Day to Bombing of the Reich is a improved and enhanced edition of Talonsoft's older Battle of Britain and Bombing the Reich. This updated version represents the best simulation of the air war over Britain and the strategic bombing campaign over Europe that has ever been made.

Allied AF behind german lines..

Post by Vasquez »

Not sure if this was reported already:

A few days after the germans reach the gothic line in summer 1944 (after the avalanche retreat) the allies gets a new AF (at Rimini).. behind the german frontline. I dont think this is WAD and needs fixing?

Hey Vasquez [8D] <S>

I have seen some things like this, but not sure if it is exactly the same. Not with that particular base but with others and earlier in the 43 campaign. I am not sure if in these situations I really know exactly where the "Lines" are. Just a quick question... can you actually operate AC from it? I have seen some strange things in this game from time to time. Perhaps this is one of them. I have not heard a lot of discussion over the years about things like this and since I have not really seen a lot of it not sure about it.

hmmmmm

okay, that is a LW field, so it is change sides, when it is seen as being in Allied hands, but your line looks odd

thinking back, please see if you can give me the Loc numbers of that field, I thought I had to move it more north

I think we caught that, in your screen, it looks to be SW of Rimini, in mine I am testing, it is NW and between Rimini and the Port

(no exscues, but back when, I wanted to release a updated OOB, but the players wanted me to hold off on it, until the patch was ready, not sure if that would of helped or not)

Indeed this was a LW AF before (checked a older savegame). The location is 783,883.
It changed sides some days after my ground foces moved into the gothic line.

Not that this matters much. You cant defend this line effectively anyway (LW wise).

thank you, yea, the numbers are different then what I have, mine is more north (about 10 miles north, one mile east)

a oddity in the way the game decides what is taken over, the front line is still in front of it, but it changed sides (so had to move it back some)

and yea, once the line falls back, that is too close to the front to be used, but it shouldn't be a Allied field !!!

okay, I think we found that and fixed it already, here is a screen shot of the line falling back, and it is still GE, while those on the other end of the line are Allied
