Shakturi Alliance.

Has anyone end up having to fight this Shakturi Alliance the game keeps warning about? I see it has a ship set... but I have not had to do battle with these guys yet.[&:]
Of course, I am so busy blasting pirates out of the sky that I might have missed them... [:D]

I am sort of looking forward to them being a menace...

Not me anyway. I'm not sure if there was an intention by Elliot that they appear at some point in the game as an empire or a force of some kind.

All I've seen of them are the abandoned ships found in the graveyards.

Now that is absolutely true...
And since I set those guys up with Romulan ships... I am finding Romulan ships all over the galaxy.    Which reminds me, I found a bunch of older, but cool looking Romulan ships that I will have to upload when I get back to a fast computer.[:)]

I, too never had to battle them but I think I have the answer.

When I was exploring the galaxy on my personal exploration ship, when, i've discovered a great secret: The Shakturi Alliance

In the text it says that long ago, that the Freedom Alliance where being overwhelmed, and that they where developing a Virus to destroy the Shakturi. And in in a fierce battle, they launched the virus in the space, killing hundreads of Shakturis and they'r allies, and mutating more hundreads.

The Virus was powerful enought to kill even the Freedom alliance crew members, making all these ship graveyard that all of us seen. Also the Giant Kaltors where originated by this virus.

But I think something is missing in DW.....Radiation.

I was rather hoping that they were sort of like the Borg and whatever the SW equivalent is... what are they Yuzzen Vorn [:D] or some such thing.

I also had this impression when I first started playing. Perhaps it is planned for the expansion or a future expansion.

In one game I found a ancient Colonyship with Shakturi colonists onboard. So far no Shakturi Alliance or active combat ships.

Some obvious questions: do you have those events turned on?

I have not encountered them yet either, but I figured I was not far enough along in the game. Right now, the Republic under Chancellor Palpatine and the CIS under Count Dooku are making me fight for my life.

Yes, I was playing one game until 2911 before finally giving up on seeing the Shakturi. That was the first release version of RotS though and I think it's been fixed since then. After a certain amount of time they should appear.

Yes the events are turned on. But i think that i found those shakturi colonists is just a random found. Just like you found other abonded colony ships.

But they have a nice high war weariness.[8D]

Must be terribly overpowered to find a colony ship with shakturi. From what I've read their race is MEANT to be unbalanced so you have a hard time fighting them, though they seem to be mostly like the insectoid races around with the proper governments.

Yeah, I thought as much. I have my sciences set WAY longer than most people, so I though that would slow them up a bit.

My biggest challenge is the fuel situation... I do not need any crazed homocidal manaical Shakturi to make things challenging at the moment. [:D]
