Traskott!! Two fishes on Zuikaku !!, that´s great... Soryu and Zuikaku and many BBs will  be out of service for months, you will be very glad, your opponent will not be able of any more offensive ops after D.E.I. campaign for a long time.
Best of lucks (...if needed, of course! [;)])

6/5/42 6? I'd have bet it was 5!!

( I really messed with the turns. how I do this ? )

Some bad news, and another more good.

D.E.I.

Now I can see why I have had some sucess against KB. There was some CVs missing. They have appear near Soerabaja and crushed the base and a lot of my spare air force.

A raid over Soerabaja gets some sucess:

SS KIX : 3 hits, and sunk.
DE POPE: 1 hits. On fire. Heavy DMG (no risk of sinking, but she needs fly away NOW )
AS ZUIDERKRUIS: 2 bomb hits. Heavy Fires. Heavy DMG (lot of chances to be sank tomorrow ).

PORT SUPPLY HITs: 2. PORT FUEL HITS: 4. PORT HITS: 14.

COUNTERATTACK:

6 B-339D, 2 Hurricane IIB, 2 P-40E, 2 B-26 and 2 P-39D destroyed, against ZERO results.

I'm currently moving away of D.E.I. all my air assets. Dutch Air Force is almost destroyed.

A naval strike catch AGP Sirius trying to flee from Soerabaja and is sunk with 5 bombs.

*******************************************************************

BB PENSILVANIA in off map movement is getting its flooding dmg. Has got some points and is now near 85, at 1 week of Norfolk !!!

******************************************************************

SS POMPANO puts a torpedo at xAKL KAISYO MARU. Probably sunk.
SS POLLACK puts a torpedo at xAK JINSHU MARU. DUD!!!

*****************************************************************

More Clemson DDs converted to DE, at S.F.

****************************************************************

2nd Raiding Regiment arrives at Kendari and makes a shock attack. 1 to 7 (Forti3). Tomorrow I'll launch my own attack.

***************************************************************

CHINA:

I've retired one of my main armies from Chenkow, to Changsha. 3+Divisions in position to cut off my troops. Better a retreat.

LOT of movement at the North East Front. Seydlitz is now moving troops at full pace (probably extracting something of Manchuria??) and I expect lot of combats around my two mains bases there.

At Sinyang, a "recon bombardment" shows I have 1900 AV against 650 japanese AV. A deliberate attack is ordered.

********************************************************************************

One convoy with several regiments, about to arrive at Pago Pago. In 3 days all my five CVs will be together to escort the 32th Division, which will garrison PAGO PAGO.

*******************************************************************************

The DEI battle has left my pools almost empty. No more aerial strikes in a few weeks.

******************************************************************************

Several convoys with fuel have arrived to Australia. The country is flooding in supplies (more than 1 million, today).

******************************************************************************

The pic of today:

Image

I'll send some cat to make recon over Singapore, I don't believe just one torpedo can blow up the CV.

Tokyo Rose (aka email from Seydlitz) talk about the CV Zuikaku as one of the CV providing air support over Java. Interesting...This is the first time he talk about one of his carriers. No word about Soryu...[8|]

Ok, let's go to business.

SUBMARINE WARFARE (all around the Pacific)

SS KXV put ONE fish to xAK MELBOURNE MARU. Heavy Damage.

SS KVIII located by ASW escorts and suffer SEVEN hits. Medium system dmg, and a bit of flooding dmg, all minor, but, overall, she will be out of bussiness for a while.

SS S-36 suffer same ASW attack by the same units....

SS TAMBOR launch TWO attacks to AMC BANKOK MARU near Shikuka. It's a dud festival..[:(][:(].

SS O16 put ONE fish at xAP HUSIMI MARU. Heavy damage.

AM CARAQUET attacks SS I-5 near Victoria (CDN) with no effect.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

D.E.I.

xAP TANGU MARU reported hit near Palembang. However, some unsuccesful attacks by CW-22 reported ship is still at good shape.

2nd Raiding Rgt repulsed from Kendari. 193 casualties incluiding 4 combat squads destroyed. Kendari Bon will try to hunt and destroy the regiment, denying an strategic card to the Japanese Forces.

Some japanese troops are moving near Batavia, trying to cut the island on two. MASIVE air evacuation in progress. All those auxiliary units will be handy to be placed at Palembang, to improve my defenses.

**********************************************************************************

CHINA

15 units moving against one of my northeast cities. Ok, let's dance.

At Sinyang, my victorious armys repulsed a pitiful japanese attack.

The following japanese units:

35 Div.
17/A Div.
9th Ind.Mixed Brigade.
Two independent regiments.
has been repulsed with heavy losses in the jap side:

4359, incluiding 140 combat squads destroyed, 115 combat squads disabled , 301 non combat squads destroyed, and 43 vehicles destroyed.

***********************************************************************************

PILOT's TRAINING

In a huge "clicking festival" no less than 80 pilots have been reasigned to the general reserve and are now ready to be deployed at front squadrons, with the US Army and US Marines.

At India, several sqns are training lot of bomber crews, to create a huge pool of british bomber units capable of storm japanese positions.

A "SS day", as almost reports concern this kind of warfare:

S-40 puts one fish at xAP TANGO MARU. Reported with "HEAVY DAMAGE".

SS KXII launch a torpedo against DD MOCHIZUKI: Dud!!

SS I-11 sunks the SS SEALION with one torpedo [:@].

SS STINGRAY locates one heavy amphibious TF heading Singapore or Bangkok. Launch a torpedo agains DD URAKAZE and fails.

YMS-117 locates I-18 near PAGO PAGO and launch several DEPTH CHARGES. One hit reported.

SS S-34 locates and attack on surface the xAKL UJIGAWA MARU. 14 SHELL HITS REPORTED.

AM CARAQUET locates and attack (again) the SS I-5.

Some air combats over China with a couple of downs by side is the only happenings of today, excepting SS warfare.

A quit turn !!

Another [>:] turn. Nothing special.

The only interesting event is the 147th (Sep) Inf. Regiment is now at Pago Pago, and preping to Baker or perhaps... Tarawa... I'll see...

The I-5 was hit by a Canadian ASW Force, and is reported hit several times. She is near Vancouver, so I hope she doesn't get home.

Overall the turn is just duds and misses by the SS of both sides...

Oh, and one chinese corps has taken Pingoiang, just to disturb a bit, or a lot, if I can...

Ok, guys.... There are three IJA Divisions storming Java. So, US Planes are now flying to Australia to rest and refit, and the Cats and Do-24 are transporting all units they can to Palembang. It has 530 A.V. plus forti4, so it should hold for a while....

At CHINA, HERE IT COMES.. There is a NEW japanese offensive at north: The city at West of Kaifeng with 1.000 AV is about to fall to 1.300 AV japanese.. hummm, well, perhaps I should pull back all my troops ? Dunno, grrr....[:@]

You can get lucky, I've gotten a CV kill from a single torpedo. Of course, you need lots of luck and I did get an ammo storage explosion.

Offensives all everywhere !!!!

The japanese divisions at Java are advancing to clan all the way to Soerabaja... Looks like Batavia will be the last one...

At China the next attack fails and get a 1 to 3, but there is more japanese troops on its way. Looks like he is REALLY interested in attack at China. Well...

At the rest of the map, no news. Brisbane hits forti5, there are now Marines at Noumea, and Luganville enjoys now a little tiny lvl1 airfield.

BB Tennessee and Pennsylvania have arrived to Norfolk, and will be there for months...There are four BBs repariring all over USA, and the last one is on its way...The shipyard of PH is now almost empty...

S-45 puts TWO torpedos at AMC BANGKOK MARU. It should be sank as sound of sinking is reported. Another one ship could have been sank, as the same sounds are listened.

Several raids at Palembang destroy 1 CW-22 Falcon. No air response. ( I don't have fighters, well, TWO P-40s ).

BB TENNESSEE AND PENSSYLVANIA get 1/42 upgrades at Norfolk. Plus the big upgrades of the 6/42 and 8/42, I won't see them at war til 43...

At CHENGKOW: STEEL OFFENSIVE: A Shock attack at the city is (barely) hold by my troops. 1700 AV against 700 A.V. It's difficult !!! He has bring with him EIGHT armored regiments. Humm, I have no AT guns at hand... pufff.. I must prepare somewhat to down this new offensive..

edit: Pago Pago is now at Forti5, and Karachi is Port6. Overall all the logistical planning is working smoothly.

15/5/42: Slowly advance of 3 jap divisions all over Java. The rest of the Pacific is [>:][>:][>:][>:][>:]. Lt.Cdr Rochefort suspects a "sleep" tactic. All the USA airplanes at Java are now sucessfully evacuated to Australia and India. Only a few dutch sqns remains operative, moving troops from Java to Sumatra.

SLOC secured. Now, it's time to acumulate troops and material to the counter offensive !!!

SS S-27 launch two fishes to DD KURETAKE near LAE. Miss !!!

SS I-18 hits xAP EKIMA with one torpedo. She'll sank at evenening. DD GRIDLEY counterattacks, but no hits reported.

This vessels are some ones of the BIG convoy with the 32th Inf. Division which will garrison PagoPago, allowing the Marines move to Noumea.

SS SHARK attacks at xAKL ZUIHO MARU. Of course: DUD !!

DD LE TRIOMPHANT, at ASW service, near Sidney, locates (and attacks ) SS I-2 to no effect.

Japanese troops advance all over Java. Several B.F. have evacuated, and some dutch bons will be moved by air to Sumatra, to add more A.V. to my troops...

SS PERCH was reported hit yesterday.  Checked and was ok, but later, as the next day she appears with 80 SYS and 40 FLOAT DMG...grrr..Ok. She will try to make one of the Chinese Ports...

KB is missing, and it scares me a lot. Ufff... Perhaps another raid ??

SS PERCH about to sinking....

DD KURETAKE spotted and attacked near TRUK.

DD NENOHI located E of TOBOALI, escorting a large convoy...

SS I-18 attacked by several AM and APDs near Pago  Pago, to no effect, a fuel convoy is about to arrive, it will be....disgusting if this SS puts any torpedo on my transports..

Air combats over Palembang: 4 dutch fighter downed to no effect.

SS I-2 sank DD LE TRIOUMPHANT nex to Sidney. DD STUART counteraatacks: One direct hit and two misses...

All cargo assets re-routed to Sidney. More easy to organize and defend.

SS PERCH sanks...

SS TAMBOR puts one fish at xAK KINSYO MATU. On fire. Heavy DMG. Reported sunk, but not confirmed.

SS I-26 reported hit near Brisbane by one of our Hudsons. Hope they began to do their job.

Lot of merchants at Sidney, which will be my main base at SWPAC. Noumea is too vulnerable, as Brisbane...
