Three Moves Ahead Podcast on Logistics

Post by ralphtricky »

If you're into podcasts, Three Moves Ahead is the only strategy games podcast I've found. It's pretty interesting overall, not much talk about war-games, but I find it interesting, and they seem to know what they're talking about.

I just got done listening to their podcast on logistics and how few games model it well. TOAW was one of the games mentioned as having decent logistics support.

Does anyone know which scenario they're talking about with the Guns of August? It's got my interest piqued since that's one area where Elmer could use some help.

Thanks,
Ralph

They definitely talk about a TOAW scenario, but they both don't seem to remember the scenario's name so they refer to it as a "Guns of August" scenario. And it's at the divisional level. I think it's France 14 (Classic TOAW), afaik the only divisional level stand-alone West Front '14 scenario. I don't think they refer to Piero or DMcBride's entire war scenarios (also at the divisional level). Later they talk about the game "Guns of August" mentioned by Sil.

There is also "Home Before the Leaves Fall" that covers the same time period as France14 at a smaller scale (1 day turns instead of 1 week turns, etc.)
