Well, Loyang falls some days ago, and now the other city is a bit isolated, dunno what to do....

Ooh, and my B-17s of 10th US Air Force hit Rangoon Refineries, helped by Hudsons, Wellingtons and Blehheims of the RAF.

Image

Not bad...more supplies (and days) to turn "online" his new empire !!!.

At BATAVIA, Imperial Guards Division, plus 21 Division and 11th Infantry Regiment down the forts to 2, so tomorrow Batavia will fall... a pity...

Well, 33rd Base Force arrived at Eastern USA and today I have discovered that if turned on strategic movement, it can be movered to Cape Town !! As it's asigned to Southern Asia, is a good idea, but the feature of the game is absolutely new to me....

BTW: I'm losing 1 B-17 per sortie against P.M. That is unacceptable, as I even get sometimes one kill of Zeros...so, it's time to use them to another role....

24/25 May

SS TRUANT and SS SAURY reported HIT. They will go back home NOW. I wan't to avoid the same trouble as with the SS PERCH.

DELIBERATE ATTACK AT SEMARANG: 1 to 3: 3553 japanese casualties... Excelent !!.

Several air combats over China end with the loss of 4 P-40 of the AVG... boys...this is a shame... [:(]. Time to think on withdrawal the unit !!

SS KVII hits xAK SUGIYAMA MARU: 1 torpedo. On fire.

INTEL (WitpTracker) reports BB NAGATO as sank [&:][&:]. Well.. we'll see...

A new convoy system will be introduced in a few weeks, acording the type and capacity of every vessel.

BTW: I have converted almost evert xAK which can be converted on xAP. Is it a good idea or I have made a huge mistake ?

Thanks !!!

PB CHOSA MARU sank by SS KVIII. One torpedo is more than enough... Well, well, it is from a convoy bringing supplies to Batavia. Another amphibious assault is taking place near Soerabaja. My troops at Semarang are now trapped. But with Forti4 and 700 A.V. they should hold for a while.

I-164 sanks xAK TEST BANK and xAK INDUSTRIA. [:@].

I-170 sanks xAK SEA HOUND.

Well, well, I need to reorganize my transport capacity, so SS japanese will get more shots, but I need to improve my sealift capacity... Several xAK will be converted to xAPs...

One PT T.F. found a Minesweeper T.F. , made with 3 DMS and 1 DD. Despite several torpedo attacks I get no impacts, so I'm a bit upset.

The only attack I get was one 139WH-3 who found clear way to attack Batavia, and puts 2 300kgs bombs at xAK KIYO MARU.

The 37th and 41th Divisions will be deployed at Australia, that, with 6th, 7th and 8th AIF Divisions, will made the First AUS Army....

Very happy as I've discovered several charts with the HQ organization....Excellent !!

Now, let's go to business:

Several CW-22 Falcon stroke at night at Batavia Port. DMS W-20 reported HIT by one 50kgs bomb.

7th BG began it's action over Burma! Some B-25s bombarding Toungoo AF is always a good beginning...

A massive air sweep over Sumatra leads to the loss of two Dutch Fighters. Now only another two remains...

xAK HOKKAI MARU hit by a 300kgs bomb, at Batavia, by a ( suicide ) 139WH-3 which flew without escort....

SS SHARK puts one torpedo at PB MENADO MARU. On fire, heavy damage. This little SS is one of my best SS assets...

ENEMY INTEL:

4, 38 and 53 Japanese Divisions reported at Djokjajarta, where stormed the base, destroying one dutch LCU and pushing back another one to Soerabaja...
At Tjepoe, I/4th Inf Bn, II/4th Inf. Bn, 2nd Engineer Rgt, and 2nd Recon Rgt capture the base, isolating Semarang...Well. Now the (first) siege has begun.

29 plus 30 / 5/42

BURMA:

Several night raids over Bangkok get nothing but some planes damaged for both sides.

CHINA:

Air combat over Kukong: 9 sweeping Oscars vs 18 P-40E and 5 I-15 III ( the new front line chinese pilots, 6 months training ): 2 Oscars downed for 3 I-15 and 1 P-40E. I think overall my chinese pilots are ready for combat BUT need a DECENT fighter. The P-43 Lancer or H-81 could be the answer....

Kaoping falls to another guerrilla atack. Yeah, baby, El Empecinado is back.

D.E.I. :

At MERAK the following japanese formations attacked last remants of dutch troops at West Java: 21 Division, Imperial Guards, 11th inf. regiment, 22 and 56 Recon regiments. They wipe out several formations (mainly B.F. and administrative formations). No trouble as a lot of them have been pulling to Sumatra since one week ago.

SS STINGRAY hits xAK HOKKO MARU. 1 torpedo. On fire. Heavy Damage.

SS S-38 attacks on surface the xAK AWASIJANMARU and score two hits with torpedoes and one with the deck gun. Reported SUNK.

Some Hudsons and W-138s attacks an apmhibious TF near Kendari, scoring 1 hit (300kgs bomb) at xAK HAKUSIKA MARU (yeah, with this name, she deserves it). Heavy Fires. Heavy Damage.

OTHERS:

SS I-22 located near San Diego, one ASW T.F. with four D.E. will attack the offending vessel.

Dutch PT's located xAK MANSEI MARU and xAK HOKKAI MARU, and puts one torpedo at every ship.

SS I-22 hits twice near SDan Diego by DE EDSALL.

SS SEAWOLF sanks xAK MANSEI MARU with another torpedo.

33 Oscars made an sweep over Mandalay...when I have given the same order to my fighters...3 hurri take off and one is shot down.

Several air waves strike Rangoon airport, compresing, 15 Blenheims, 13 Wellingtons and 16 B-17s...overall I got 6 airbase hits, 29 runway hists, 1 supply airbase hit and 7 port hits...welll...not bad...

Tomorrow more !!!

It's upgrading time !!

Lot of ships all over the map recommisioned to make the 6/42 upgrade. I'll wait a bit to make the same with my battle fleets, if needed.

Overall an interesting turn. My air offensive against Rangoon went well and the airfield is hit again. Now I'm going to keep the presure on with aditional measures....

Dutch 139WH-3 operating from Koepang hits xAK SYORYU MARU with 4 bombs of 300 kggs each. A second wave scores another two hits at xAK KINRYU  MARU. Heavy fires reported.

Another masive wave of Nells and Bettys destroy the airfield SW of Palembang ( I never remember the name ). Tomorrow a couple of Demons will try to do the undoable and will take off to fight the enemy.

Another day waiting to have enough P.P. to release an US division...[>:][>:][>:]

Intel signal one japanese artillery unit pointing Townsville.

SS I-16 sank xAK COLD BROOK near San Francisco. It's awful....1 torpedo and down.

SS HALIBUT gets ANOTHER dud at xAK TEMPEI MARU.

Several CW-22 Falcons  launch several attacks over Batavia to no effect. [:(]. Well..

More raids over Rangoon, gets 6 Oscars destroyed at ground on the airfield... Excellent !!! Plus, 5 Airbase hits, 4 airbase supply hits, and 33 runway hits...

Ground Warfare: Just one combat at Wuhu, China. One RGC Bgde try to attack an Chinese Corps but get an 1 to 12... Hehehe, tomorrow I expect to expel them of Wuhu and put another stone in the Chinese Theather...

Traskott,

Don´t hesitate.. the arty unit preplanning Townsville is a deception meassure from your opponent, for sure !. With HR´s he would not start any offensive against Australia before the end of D.E.I. campaign.

Go ahead with your air offensive against Burmese airfields in japanese hands !...Strike again and again, until you will spend all your available bombs ;)

Best of lucks!
Ramón

SS CUTTLEFISH attacks on surface xAK HAURAKI MARU. Launched 10 torpedos, 10 duds, and the cargo ship score three hits at the SS... [:@][:@][:@][:@]

Some Bettys begin to attack Semarang, my last strong point at Java.
(Soerabaja is still mine, but undefended )

SHOCK attack at Wuhu (China), against the 5th RGC Division. Forts down to 1. I hope to take the point tomorrow. Guerrilla warfare rules !!!

4/5/42

SS SKIPJACK gets another dude at xAK TEMPEI MARU near Tokio. My submarine strategy works, but my torpedoes no...

SS S-41 sanks xAK KOYO MARU near Saigon with guns and torpedos...

A british bombardment Task Force, trying to bombard Rangoon, finds a pretty japanese convoy:

PB: AOI MARU, PB FUJI MARU
xAK: KINUGAWA MARU, AOBASAN MARU, HITATI MARU, ATUTASAN MARU, AOSAN MARU.

All sunk... [:D][:D] And Tokyo Rose go into the air to anounce a huge victory

Dutch AirForce still has punch:
A little raid over Batavia port gets a good outcome: 10 CW-22 Falcon plus 6 fighters strike the port and score two bombs at xAP KEIHUKU MARU and 1 hit at magazine at DD AYANAMI which explodes and gets sank. Perfect !!!

Besides, Wuhu at China is captured, and Rangoon is pummeled again by my Wellingtons, Blenheims, etc...

On the dark side, Semarang is about to fall !! my main fortress at Java is attacked by 2.156 AV japanese points ( 53,4,38,48,16 divisions plus 16th Army units). My forts goes down to level 2 and I suffer 4.100 casualties !!!! [X(][X(][X(]. Well, I think I should rearrange my schedule of "Fortress Java"

Air attacks over Oosthaveng, Semarang and Praboemoelih, as usual. My Air Forces backing Rangoon to Stone Age, too. [:D]

At Semarang, japanese troops got 1 to 1 and forts drop to level 2. 2.136  japanese casualties against 3.460 mine, but too much destroyed squads on my side. [:(][:(]. I had planned bring back some LCUs via float plane, but seeing the replacement squads available to dutch forces (zero, plus empty tools), I think I won't do any effort to rescue more troops.

One interesting note: Combat Report show another japanese LCU destroyed at Semarang... Looks like Seydlitz doesn't have any respect for his own troops !! [X(] I have check the jap casualties and 41 vehicules have been destroyed. Another armoured formation destroyed ??

RECON FLIGHTs: Milne Bay: Empty. Tulagi, no AF built.

Overall the more important things today are:

a) Semarang about to fall: forts drop to level 1 and I have just 425 A.V.

b) JAPANESE OFFENSIVE AT CHINA: 6.166 A.V. at Hankow launch a deliberate attack and get a 1 to 2 !!!!: I suffer 2.000 cassualties, but the japanese +13.000 !!!!! That's the way I like war at china.

I'm pretty upset about the lack of aerial movements all around the Pacific. What are he doing with his planes ?

Intel has locates de I-33 at Port Blair, so I expect an attack here soon. I'll move the Hudson here located tomorrow.

Oh, and, of course, another 8 hits to the Rangoon Refinery. [:D][:D]. In 1942 everything counts !!!
