I found out a short while ago that my Great grandfather was in the 8th Army in N. Africa.  Hopefully I'll be able to find out some more next time we head up North, I still don't know too much about my Dad's side of the family.

Ouch!

I especially like this bit:

"Such was the level of concern they immediately realised it could be a serious medical incident and took steps to complete the relevant documentation."

So that's alright then.

Knowing about the . . . ahem . . . fragility of the area you'd like to think that a surgeon, especially a male surgeon, would have been extra careful down there.

Having injected himself with the narcotics the patient was supposed to get, i suspect the surgeon wasn't paying a lot of attention to the patient... [X(] [:@]*

*although that was supposed to have been another patient, i suspect the guy was doing stuff like this all along.

It probably went like this:

Nurse - You've cut off his right nadger!
Doctor - Quick, get the correct form to fill in!

Ah! - he said, interupting a beautiful colloquy;

Ok, for all ya Gulf and East Coast denizens, I do be home. Got an address at the Eastern Shore of Mobile Bay, in Fairhope, AL (Jimmy Buffet has a house there); got an invite to do some racing and joinup from Fairhope YC; all courtesy of Thread Brother TomLabel (and his friends and relations).

Ain't that far from Mike in NC, and Don in TX, so ya'll be looking for an elderly, white haired, gentleman showing up on your doorstep sometime soon.

Ciao. John

Just warn us working stiffs when you are coming so we can hide the high-dollar booze. [:'(]

Maybe stitching the poor guy back up would be a better option than dropping everything to fill in some forms?

By the way, isn't some sort of apology appropriate here?

"Look, mate, I've lopped off one of your lads. Don't go all wobbly on me. Terribly sorry, what what. Stiff upper lip and all that. Keep calm and carry on. Besides, you've still got another one, don't you?"
