Whole series (less Caen) for £9 on Steam

I wish Steam would wtop selling so many cheap games - I'll never finish any of my games at this rate!

..is a steal.

You "stealing" the game because it's so cheap...
or them stealing your money because you'll end up not playing the game anyway. [:D]

I got sucked into a lot Steam sales. Although they're quite harmless on the pocket, they don't get played either.

I'm amazed at this sale, especially since I was going to buy it earlier this week for $40....gotta pull the trigger on this now.

Thoughts on the game JD? About how many hours of play time can you get out of this game b/f it starts repeating itself?

Well I did like the original ToW - but found infantry to be useless and the AI had almost perfect shots...but I loved the tank combat in it.

I can't say I was totally in love with the first one, but I thought the game series as a whole was definitely worth that meagre price, so added it to my collection.

I only really gave it a quick try when I got up this morning so don't have really any views on it. Jarhead at Wargamer (Armchair General) thought the second edition (Afrika) and addons were great.

I doubt I'll be playing much of it tonight - The Apprentice is on and Hertston and others have got me into AI Wars which was another steal on Steam.

I really, really do need to stop buying now though. I have a plethora of games - great games - and they each deserve some play time...

The sale is only good thru the 4th so you better hurry if you want it. I had to pick it up myself for that price and the Kursk/Caen one has a random mission generator so there's plenty of replayability with that included.

I have all the games and modules and have to say it is not a bad pickup. Just be aware of the following from BF site:

Battle for Caen is an Expansion Pack and requires Theatre of War 2 - Kursk 1943 in order to play. Any version will work, including non-Battlefront versions, EXCEPT for the "Steam version" which is not compatible with this Expansion.

I am sure they will eventually come out with a patch or something. But be aware just in case you are wanting to play the Caen expansion.

If you pick this up go to GAJ's site and pick up some mods. You can also look at BF repository.

But you can always get the Steam version of Caen if you have the steam version of Kursk!

Judge,
Your right! I just seen that you can buy all the games and Caen for under the $25.00 that BF is charging for the expansion alone.

Atleast I don't have to download Theatre of War 1, since I already have the retail. Plus, Theatre of War 2 both North Africa and Kursk '43 only take up 3 point something Gigs which is not bad...not bad at all.

Ok, I picked up Kurusk and Africa ... but where are the manuals? Am I missing something? I checked around on my HD and either missed them or they are not there.

Played the demo of Kursk...hated it....every tank but three was immobalised or destroyed in the first 5 mins of the game....which left you with very little to use to even get near to the village...had 5 tanks with no tracks and a few men to then take on a counter attack....

Need to take advantage of covered approaches, especially for infantry. Never have been in the military but I'd imagine it is realistic to have your a** blown off if you're too visable.
