How do you get xp?

After almost a year of bombing, my bomber crews are little better than at the start, especially
the pathfinder units.

Sure, the fighters rise thru combat that much is obvious. But you would think that practice would make bombers better

XP is gained for operations, but combat and kills get XP faster. Landing in fog will give good XP.

But it's a counter. You don't get XP for doing it, you get points toward XP for doing it. Once you have enough points, you bump one XP, and reset the counter.

If look closely you may find that the high experience crews are constantly being lost and replaced with rookie crews. You may have to reduce the unit loss rate to allow the average experience levels to come up.
