The carriers are about 36 hrs steaming SE of Sydney. They might be in attack position South of Horn Is. in 3 days if I sprint them part of the way. The Jap carriers have disappeared but could be somewhere West of Horn Is. in the new recon void. It would be nice to sink Kirishima again.

There is now an AVP at Cooktown to support seaplane operations.

They will also start that discussion of brain worms and parasites again accompanied by gross illustrations. Can't we just agree to wage merciless warfare of the cardboard/computer code variety and forego the gross out stuff:).
You say 'brain worms and parasites' and 'gross out stuff' like it's a bad thing. [&:]

That's a nice way of keeping those malpractice-lovers away. It's like burning citronella candles to keep away blood-sucking insects from your porch in the summer. [:D]

I went to Disneyland this weekend. Would you believe the Tiki Room is still open? It is hilariously politically incorrect. There is a Mexican McCaw who says "welcome to the cho seeenor". I actually heard the hispanic woman next to me gasp in horror. That alone was worth the price of admission.
Do they still shoot the Hippos with blanks on the Jungle Cruise? I imagine that's changed in the last two decades too. [8|]

Just as I feared, Admiral Sprior. Gag! More worms and parasites crawling about in the brain. As I just returned from Peru, Equador and scouting for naval bases in the Gallapagos Is, and having been bitten repeatedly by many bloodsucking flies on hikes in Moccu Piccu (SP), I fear an infestion may have already started in the darker regions of my brain.

Bah...."darker regions" of the brain. Who needs 'em. they just get you in trouble anyway.

[:)] We could get by on less "filler" if we could just get the turns back from Admirar Rord Nerson.

Speaking of "filler", I have often wondered, how much do you have to weigh to be considered a "large animal vet"?

Nah, they still shoot at them, but in order to be politically correct, they shoot "over" the Hippos' heads to "scare" them away.

I'd like to see how well that actually works on the "great grey-green greasy Limpopo" of the real world, where the Hippos play for keeps!

But Mandrake, it all hangs together: A "politically correct approach to life" is the only way to go when you actually believe you live in Disneyland full-time....

On Friday I got a letter from the IRS

On Saturday, one from the State Franchise Tax Board

On Sunday there was no mail.

*******!

I will be happy when it is Monday.

I object to the usurpation of the word "franchise". Like it is some kind of entrepeneurial effort.

Come to think of it "service" doesn't seem appropriate either. I am pretty sure they wouldn't have one Goddmaned "customer" without the ability to forcefully incarcerate their "clients".

Wait...does that sound bitter? Oh... who gives a ****.

Uh, me? [:@]

Mandrake, let me set you straight about the new rules in the People's Republic of California: use of the term "Franchise" is entirely appropriate: e.g., they have an exclusive franchise to point a gun to your head and then take your money, completely legally. See how many thugs on the street can get away with that!

As far as "service" in IRS goes, the term originates from a somewhat euphemistic but synonymous action verb describing what occurs to you when they "service" you.

Yikes, you think this is a free country or something? Remember, the reason our boys in blue and green and khaki once risked it all was to give you a large government with lots of regulations and regulators dedicated to point out the many ways you need to be protected from yourself.

BTW, it would be most courteous should you take the effort to thank Frau Braun for her compassionate interest in your landscaping the next time you see her!

They have large animals in the armed forces? Do they get the whole VA thing too?

In a sense, yes. Lots of animals serve, Lord Admiral Sprior. Mules and horses would be amongst the larger animals represented, I'd imagine, in the US Army. Elephants are probably still used in the Myanmar or Thai armies. Many more dogs (sniffer, guard, patrol, etc.) represented in our army. Some of the veterinarians that accompanied Gulf War I's liberation of Kuwait found themselves busily taking care of abandoned lions and the like at the zoo.

It's a man's life in the USA Veterinary Corps. [8D]

Make that middle part:

"Lord Admiral Lord Sprior"

Best to play it safe.
