Wishes for multiplayer

Post by tmoj2000 »

Been playing the game in MP and it is great fun

I think you guys should advertise on ASL sites as this game should be just the thing for the ASL crowd

Anyways a couple of things I d like to see in MP

1 - A summary screen of forces listing
Available forces
Losses taken to date
Expected reinforcements
Losses inflicted on the ennemy to date

(when you have several games going it can be very difficult to remember what you killed and what you lost)

2- A replay function for finished games....so you could replay the whole game, not just the last turn

3- I already posted this elsewhere and got a response that this was not in the current plans, still if one day we get a possibility for direct mp play (as opposed to pbem) then great

Thanks

Thanks for the feedback.

Letting other game groups know abotu BA is a great way to get new players - if they have forum please feel free to post there. Advertising without a previous awareness for the product has almost no impact unless you absolutely bury them in adverts! We think there are a lot of potential markets we havent even started to tap in to with this game. Suggestions for sites to contact abotu it are awlays welcome so feel free to post links and compile lists.

Hit enter to see a report of casualties in a mission.

A full replay is on teh wish list.

Direct head to head is not planned - its a lot of work with minimal value for the vast majority of players. There is really nothing to do while your opponent moves. Instead play a paired game - both playing the same battle from different sides. You'll always be doing somethign and there is no waiting time at all :)

Yes enter works great for casualties..... This helps a lot thanks...

How about reinforcements ? Is there a way to understand what we are supposed to be getting ? I understand there is some randomness (which is good since you can replay the same scenario many times over with a slightly different feel everytime) but still we should know at least indicatively when to expect reinforcements and roughly what to expect... Otherwise the first few times playing a scenario is a bit like flying blind

Reinforcements are scripted and require the mission designer to script it in. If you refer to Buying Time & Christmas Surprise reinforcements are random by design so we dont tell you what is coming.

One more thing

Do I understand correctly that the number of MP games is limited to 20 ? Any chance to increase that ?

The limit is only 20 active at any one time. The limit is the to stop any one player starting too many games and then possibly stopping playing and having it effect so many other users.

Are you really finding aving 20 games on the go is an issue?

He He .... yes

because typically about half will be one week old or more and we do not know if the adversary is still playing, still alive, still interested etc...

if there are no technical constraints on the limit I would suggest removing it (or increasing it to 50).....

Also, the FOG completed games lets us know what was the result whereas in BA you just have a list of completed game with no menton of who won/lost.... it would be a nice to have

thanks

We'll look in to it but it wont be part of the next update. I think the better option is to make sure dead games are removed in some way so you can start new ones if people dont complete the games.

In that case we should have the option to cancel a game after 8 days without response from the opponent
