Christmas shopping time -

Post by rickier65 »

I would like some information on the best way, or easiest, way for someone to buy a Matrix Game (or two) for me for Christmas. Any way to set up a "gift card" product? Or even just instructions for best way for someone to order a Digital Download game for someone else, without having to give the other person your credit card number?

i'd like to put some Matrix games on my Christmas List, but need a way for folks to actually buy them for me.

Thanks

After 16 years, Civ II still has me in it's clutches LOL!!!

Well you could:

1. Buy it but give the other persons email addy or
2. Buy it and forward the confirmation email with the serial number in it.

If they were really nice they'd download it, copy it to a CD/DVD/USB drive and put in a text file with the serial number.

I don't think the givers would like using my email address as buyer as then I'd get the confirmation with price, but also they WOULDN'T get confirmation that the purchase worked.

I had thought about using number 2 above, but I just checked my last email confirmation for last game I bought and while it has the serial number and order number, and as above it also shows price. Also, maybe most importantly, it doesn't have a download link. I wasn't sure that would be enough for me to download the game serial number and order number would be enough info.

And yes - thought about them downloading and copying to DVD but wasn't sure these folks are quite that computer savvy. I don't even know if they know how to put things on DVDs.

thanks though

It's not like the price is a secret...

But isn't that a waste of money when some of those physical versions are just Digital Express?

Some of the games have hefty print manuals so depends on the game. Some people just prefer to have a box. I know I do :)

Yeah but you get them free anyways from Matrixgames so you're vote don't count. [:)]

If a game is Digital Express it's a waste of money to buy the physical shipment unless you just love paying $20 for a CD case with a picture on it.

One could put that $20 toward an external hard drive and just drag and drop that .exe file or actually the complete game onto it for backup as I do.
