Warsaw to Paris v1.04d Beta Now Available!

Hi everyone,

A new 1.04d Beta is now available in our Members Club, which we plan to make official next week. Please give it a try and let us know if it works well for you.

Please note: The 1.04d Beta fixes a serious issue with the 1.04 Beta. The list below is otherwise the same.


v1.04d Beta – November 26, 2010

1. Fixes and Improvements

a. Loading Time
i. Added a small status message while starting up the game so the player knows the game is loading data instead of being dead.
ii. Scenario load time improved dramatically by making a number of changes to the data storage format and re-using graphics if already loaded (hence slightly longer load time at start up).

b. Rare AI Bug Fixed. (Thanks Bruce!)

c. Added some auto memory release functions to fix a rare memory error.

d. Air units in the Bzura Scenario will no longer have free air travel after a couple of rounds.

e. AI Restructured.

f. Retreat, but no Advance

i. It happens when your attacking troops run out of Action Points while the enemy unit has not finished retreating yet. So its a "feature", at least it is intended behavior. But I have made it more clear when this combat result occurs by specifying that the attacker is out of AP instead of that the defender held.

g. You can now find info in the combat detail screen about anti-structural damage versus bridges or fortifications.

h. France GD Regiment is now motorized.

i. Major out of memory bug fixed. This has been reported on a very limited number of systems, but these out of memory errors should now be fixed.

j. Zone of Control bug fixed. A bug where ZOC was not cleared for Belgium and the Netherlands after their surrender caused ZOC remainders to hamper German movement and automatic ZOC conquest of unoccupied hexes has been fixed.

Just want to point out that some of the issues with 1.3 Beta are still in 1.4 Beta. Specifically, the map issues I pointed out and both sides defaulting to Human in the Buzra scenario. I don't know if these were on the list for this release or a future release.

This isn't the last update by any means, so I expect those will be handled in the next one. If this one is stable and a significant improvement over 1.02 we'll go ahead and release it as official sooner rather than later so that folks who don't use the beta versions can get it.

I just played the Bzura scenario in 1.02 it seems it defaults to both sides as human in this version as well.

I checked the members area and on the link for the download it says I must register the game. The problem is I already have the game registered. Not sure how to proceed.....

We think we've found a bug in the new auto-registration that's tied into the new site and store. If you bought from the new store, that may be why this is happening. It's being investigated now and we'll fix it ASAP.
