How to gain political points by withdrawing ships to port???

Post by ScottyG »

I can't seem to remember how to gain your political points by "withdrawing whatever ships your asked to each month" i think you have to withdraw to either home port (san francisco & bombay i think it is) isn't it??? so you can gain your polotical points.

You don't gain PPs, but rather save them from being deducted.

To withdraw a British ship it's got to be in Karachi, Bombay or San Francisco and have less than 50% damage.  If you meet these an button will be available from the ship screen.

The ship will be able to return within 1 to 1.5 years.

I never thought that doing an AAR would be so time consuming and difficult.

Ok now according to this post: tm.asp?m=2004454&mpage=1&key=withdrawin ... s&#2004491 you have to "disband" the ships while either in the home port of san fran or karachi, then once "disbanded" you can then "withdraw" the ships so you don't end up paying pp but gaining them. Now, my question is, upon disbanding 2 destroyers to karachi (wan't to keep my carrier) i dock the ships then click disband BUT THEN SEE NO OPTION FOR WITHDRAW??? Am i doing this wrong or something???

Are you sure that the DDs in question are RN ships and not Australian or another country's?

Only RN vessels are subject to withdraw in WITP.

Yeah - typically players tend to single out Aussie ships for withdrawal... they have to be British.

BTW - i wouldn't send those DDs back to Uncle Winston. He will ask for 2 DDs every month (unless he doesn't ask for anything, which happens once in a while). Soon, you will have no more British DDs, but he will STILL demand you send him 2 a month... [:@]

The DDs are just too valuable to send back wholesale... i think i sent the 2 whimpiest ones i could one time when i had a PP crunch, but after that, i took the penalty.

EDIT: BTW - after you disband the ships into port, you then look at the list of ships individually in port to find the "withdraw" button. I.e. - if need to send back a CV, and you disband the HMS Courageous at Bombay, look at the ships in anchor, select HMS Courageous and it should have a "withdraw ship" button.

This will not be an active button if the ship has flooding, fires or is too damaged (>50% sys, iirc.)
