Command & Control for beginners

I've been playing for a few months now and have gotten the basics of the game down. My tactical knowledge could use a little expansion, but that will just take some reading.
What I can't find are any tips/trainers for Command & Control. I'm almost certain that using this feature will improve my gameplay, but it's a little confusing. Can anyone recommend a particular scenario or provide some hints for a beginner?
