Quagmire ? Mud ?

Post by Tzar007 »

Hello guys,

I just started playing seriously BFTB and I LOVE IT ! Got a question though regarding weather and ground conditions. Sometimes, the map color changes and I see that it can move from "quagmire", to "mud" and others.

What are the effects of these changes really ? I did a search in the manual but could not find anything on these ground states. I thought this would affect mobility, but the percentage modifier for movement seems to stay the same between mud and quagmire. So what does it do?

Welcome Tzar007!
Tthe table is actually in the scenario maker manual (along with other good stuff to know.) page 79.

The % you see on screen is the base movement modifier, which may represent a 'blend' of terrain types like woods/clear etc. This then gets modified by the ground conditions.

Ah ! Didn't check the scenario maker manual. I suspected quagmire could only meant bad things, and jeez, it does according to this table.

Thanks for the info, I've got to have a look at the scenario and estabs manuals too.
