Fallen
This day saw the fall of Kuala Lumpur, mighty Hong Kong, Loyang, Chusien, and Balikpapan (Bob was last seen boarding a plane bound for Aruba). Loyang fell to a crushing enemy blow before the defenders could withdraw in orderly fashion. Now they are withdrawing from Chengchow, hopefully ahead of the IJA juggernaut.
Unfallen
Ternate and Moulein remain - most temporarily - in Allied hands. Ternate is undefended yet, inexplicably, 4,000 enemy soldiers landed and stopped outside the city limits. Perhaps the ferocious (but ineffective) air attacks against their ships distracted them. The enemy also paused at moulmein for reasons unknown. The assigned battalion will be there in battle deployment tomorrow, but half their number are ravaged with jungle rot.
Ichang
The attack on Ichang was a success and has weakened the occupying forces. The boys try again tomorrow.
Rangoon
Sally and Oscar returned and Sally stayed the night. Oscar fought for her honor this time, and blood was let on both sides. But Sally fell.
Plain Revenge on the Plains
The bloodbath at Loyang has been avenged on the plains midway between Sinyang and Hwainan, at grid coordinates 87,49. There elements of the Chinese National Army had been chased and retreated, where they linked up with friends. Three Chinese corps, under command of a group army, made a stand against the IJA's 116th Division and 138th Infantry Regiment. Yesterday the IJA shock attacked and got worse than they gave. The defenders, being in good shape, planned their own shock attack for today.
The IJA shock attacked again, perhaps falling prey to misinformation spread about in brothels throughout the region. Their attack went badly enough, but the day was young. A determined Chinese shock attack shattered the enemy front and routed them. The commanders report of the days events follows.
