Close Combat Error

I have re-installed CC CoI just now and launched it fine and then remembered the 35001 patch. So I updated the game to 35001 and now when I launch the game I get a little box with a even littler red and white cross box inside that saying "Close Combat Error - OK!"
What is this? Will I have to re-install? And if so, without that patch which as far as I can see has basically stopped the game from running.

What operating sytem are you using

If Vist or Win 7 try below:



Try running in XP compatibility mode.

Navigate to C:\Program file\Close Combat\Close Combat III

Right click on CC3.exe and choose compatibility mode

Select xp compatibility

Also select administrator

Thanks Andrew for the replies. What I did before was installed CoI, installed GD2 then updated to 35001. As above, the game (vanilla and plug-in alike) kept on throwing up this error page. So I uninstalled the game, re-installed, THEN updated to 35001 and last of all installed GD2.
The game works fine now.

yes, install patches before any mods.
