Tomorrow or Tuesday?

Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: The German-Soviet War 1941-1945 is a turn-based World War II strategy game stretching across the entire Eastern Front. Gamers can engage in an epic campaign, including division-sized battles with realistic and historical terrain, weather, orders of battle, logistics and combat results.

The critically and fan-acclaimed Eastern Front mega-game Gary Grigsby’s War in the East just got bigger and better with Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: Don to the Danube! This expansion to the award-winning War in the East comes with a wide array of later war scenarios ranging from short but intense 6 turn bouts like the Battle for Kharkov (1942) to immense 37-turn engagements taking place across multiple nations like Drama on the Danube (Summer 1944 – Spring 1945).

The gold master/installer is being tested afaik....remembering my experience from the past....they let the testers toy with it for a couple of days (probally the weekend) and depending on their feedback the green light is given.

Hi everyone,

We are aiming for a release Tuesday afternoon US Eastern time, with Wednesday and Thursday as backup dates in case we need more time for the final store setup and QA. This is our first release with a printed manual through the new store, so we're doing extra QA just to be sure everything is fine and that means Wednesday is probably the best bet, though Tuesday is possible. Also still testing the final gold master, it is final now but we're looking to see if there's anything that we can get a head start on for the first update.

This weekend, as part of the QA I played the full campaign on the Gold Master in between other projects - got to October, 1941 without spotting a single issue and had a fantastic time. I went for Leningrad this time, diverting an extra Panzer Group up north and keeping 2nd focused on Moscow and 1st on Kharkov and Dnepropetrovsk. Last time I focused three Panzer Groups on Moscow and still fell just short (though that was on "Challenging" whereas I am now playing on "Normal"), costing myself significant progress in the north and south as well. This time, I have Leningrad cut off except for supply across the lake and it looks like I will have just enough time to drive further north before the blizzard hits and hopefully link up with the Finns. It's going to be close though and if I don't manage it I'm going to take a beating when the blizzard hits.

Starting to solidify lines elsewhere to prepare for General Winter, I won't be able to take Moscow but I took Rzhev, Tula, Kursk, Kharkov, Dnepropetrovsk and am fighting near Voronezh and Stalino. Might have a chance at those if I don't get too much mud and an early blizzard (playing with random weather for extra suspense). We'll see how much of that I still own come March!

I'm still hoping for tomorrow so my wife can get it for me on our anniversary. But at least we generated enough talk that Eric stopped playing long enough to comment, kinda semi-official like and get us really going!

There's a good reason why developers don't release on Mondays - because the company (regardless of who they are) generally have enough work from the weekend to contend with without releasing new software [;)]

It won't be today. I can't recall a title being released on Monday by Matrix.

I remember this debate from Civ 5
It's to do with sales rankings in US being tues-mon figures and europe is fri-thurs. At least that's what others were saying.

I don't want to think about having to wait 3 days longer than the Yanks[:@]

Hey, does that mean that you have already checked the manuals to make sure they have that "Made in China" sticker on the back, or will we have a delay on the Physical copies like with WitP:AE?[:D]

Cash ready and waiting, but I since I only have cash I have to convince my parents to spend $80 on a game again since I'm using their card. Sigh....same crap from when WitP:AE came out. I did tell them it was from the same guy that made WitP though so we'll see. They said "you want to spend $80 on a game?" I honestly think they don't see difference between Call of Duty and a true wargame.

As an Australian, all I can say is this:

I truly look forward to this completely normally priced (in terms of the Australian market) game. The fact that it will be $10 cheaper than most new releases here makes it all the sweeter.

Painful reminder! The manuals are in stock and good to go, no delays on that side.

LOL! G'day Malfid! It's why I love digital download. Exchange rate is good and no waiting for deliveries across the Western Pac.... And if the game proves good I may pick up a hard copy from Milsims for the manual when it comes in too.

Don't know where you're hailing from but the weather's gone tropical in Melbourne and that means plenty of rain, storms and time indoors!

Cheers mate,
Adam.

You need to explain to them that this is really a cheap hobby, and you don't even need a high-end rig to play.

It's not a game, it's a hobby.
