Ineffective CAP

Post by DoomedMantis »

Has anyone else noticed that CAP seems less effective under V2.0. I have seen several instances of unescorted bombers flying through massive amounts of CAP virtually unscathed, when in previous versions there would be a reconing.

I have also noticed that fights between fighters is resulting in less losses as well

Any comments?

Hi DM,

I've seen similar things, but nothing beyond what I'd expect really. If the issue was consistent, that'd be a problem, but I've seen one wave of SBDs coming in unescorted and slink through with little damage, while another gets a bit more hammered. Someone else noted in another string that weird stuff happens in war, and sometimes a/c can get through.

Yes I have seen it before in previous versions, but what I am saying is that it seems to be happening a lot more with V2.0. There seems to be a lot more options in the combat now, such as driven away by defensive fire, and evades and rolls etc, I'm wondering if these are new things added, or things that were there before but not dipicted. If they are new then they might be what is causing more planes to get theough the CAP

No these are not new routines, they have always been there, but due to many peoples requests for more information on what happens in air combat they added extra information descriptions which are now visible so the players get more of an idea what is happening.
