scrolling the map with multiple monitors

Post by LiquidSky »

I have two monitors. With the game on one, I can scroll in three directions, but in the fourth direction the mouse moves into my other monitor, and the map doesnt scroll.

There are a couple of ways I get around it, I notice when I right-click on the map, it centers on the hex, or I could use the jump map.

I am afraid of the opposite effect too..move into my second monitor, and have the game scroll while I am reading the manual.

Arrow keys work as well for scrolling the map.

Scrolling works when you reach the edge of the active screen. Game doesn't sense multiple monitors. It is possible to make it to detect another screens, but it can be not so easy with existing engine. Another approach would be to enable the scrolling once mouse pointer is outside the window border and window is still active. The disadvantage of such approach would be more undesired scrolling when switching between apps.

What I would like is when the game window has focus, it scrolls when you reach (or exceed) the edge of the active screen. When the game no longer has focus, scrolling can stop. That way when I move into the next screen with my mouse, the game will scroll, but if I click on something, it will stop.

edit:
I have discovered a work around:

My second monitor I set the resolution to be less then my main monitor, so that there is a couple inches on the bottom of my main that I can use to scroll to the right.
