T014 : October 24, 1942

The enemy has pulled back at Tennant Creek, but they seem to be pushing to the east, and a possible drive on Cloncurry-Mt. Ida.

The amphibious assault elsewhere on the continent has us more worried, and we continue to position units at coastal cities, especially ports. The navy has reentered the Tasman Sea, with some ships slightly stonger from a stay in port. The sea is filled with three newly arrived American divisions. Three divisions in one week - where are the Americans getting the shipping? Bolero - Sledgehammer is not on for sure.

T015 : November 1, 1942

Coast watchers have seen amphibious assault craft in the waters off northwest Australia. The western ports are all in pretty fair shape, but the test of our preparations will come when the enemy hits the beaches. This is the tense time, when the enemy is somewhere, just over the horizon perhaps? We suspect the Tennant Creek front will become active just as the landings take place.

T016 : November 9, 1942

The invasion came, and we responded quickly. We do not intend for the enemy to stay here long.

In the center there were no developments. We moved some more infantry to Cloncurry.

Our fleet is getting repaired, slowly.

Is there to be a pursuit and harrassment of the retreating Nipponese forces from the Central Front?  Or has a sincere apology to the Emperor (with a sword) been accepted?

We will move on to other campaigns.

Gary did a wondeful job, giving me quite a scare with his very aggressive opening. There is no way a competent Allied commander can lose this scenario as written. The Allies are given everything, and in abundance. If the Allies just give up Elliot and defend at Tennant Creek then they can probably make even an early amphibious landing difficult. Perhaps the Japanese can hold out in Darwin for the 314 turns it would take to get a draw, but who would want to find out.

Again, I thank Gary for making fun game of it as long as he could.
