Galactopedia online...

I know it has been raised before, but wouldn't it be great to have the Galactopedia online!

It would really be great to be able to research, devise strategies and plan my conquest of the universe while laying on the couch or at work [:)] (or even on my smart phone!!)

Surely it would be good for marketing & promotion! I know before I brought this game I did a ton of reading / viewing... and I’m pretty sure I would have made that purchase sooner if I could have read through the Galactopedia!

I think DW should take its lead from SOTS with that Rorschach thing they have... which is essentially the SOTS Galactopedia in wiki format.

I do believe, that the rorschach thing they have is 100% community effort.

Nothing really stops you from creating a similar wiki site for DW as well. The reason i do not bother with things like that is that i know i would not care enough to maintain it myself and in the early stages, such a site requires dedicated people to fill it / keep it updated.

Once you get the ball running, the community should fill in the blanks, but to get the ball running, now that requires some dedication.

I can see it taking a whole lot of effort to setup then! But surely Shirley the Code Force dudes could set it up on their site... the Galactopedia currently uses the internet explorer component to display the info, in other words it's already in HTML. They would just have to create a folder and upload it!!!!

But hey, it's not my IP... I can understand them not wanting to 'give it away for free'. But in my opinion it would generate more sales...

Just noticed that the Galactopedia is sitting in the Help subdirectory, as mht files... so you could pretty much zip it up and take it with you... and view it where ever you wanted!
