Return Of The Shakturi Diplomacy Questions

Post by Xkill »

Hello Everyone, got a couple of questions about the expansion and its Diplomacy. Anyone from the Developers to the Beta Testers may respond if possible.

Here it goes:

Are there any new diplomatic options like Military Alliances, where the AI actualy uses its military to attack someone instead of you having to take the initiative?

And also, Are there any AI improvements related to Diplomacy?

The AI will now not trade much with you until you bring it to a positive disposition first. There are different threshholds for different trades based on each faction's characteristics.

Also, when you have a Mutual Defense Pact with another faction, you can now request their help in a war for zero cost, which is quite helpful in simulating real military alliances.

In general, the AI tries to be a bit smarter about how and what it will trade, but we are always doing more work in this area too.

Do MDPs automatically give the AI empire your galaxy map, territory map, or no map?

I believe it's still the full map, otherwise how else are Allies going to know if you've got trouble brewing ? [:)]

Also, I don't know if it's new or not, but there are options to ask to End Wars without trading (money, etc.) being involved.
It's in the Change Relationship menu, and it's not 100%, it depends on how bad someone is whooping up on someone else I believe.
