No hex highligt with beta 5

Post by gingerbread »

A clicked/selected empty hex will not be highlighted w beta 5. In and by itself, this is a mere cosmetic thing, but it could be a symptom of other issue(s), hence reporting.

Ice level display activates, so selection is occuring.

Can you post a screenshot of what you see? Is this permanent behavior?

Sorry, now I cannot reproduce! I tried going through the same steps, but it works fine.

My bad for reporting somthing I did not reproduce first before reporting, so I failed the testers exam...

Actually, it does occur in a save that I am willing to mail you if you are interested. No guarantee that it will show on your PC, of course...

ss attached. Hex selected is the one that the pop up is for. Note ice level (thats why it is in the corner).

BTW, I have noticed that in some zoom level, the position polling is not at the tip of my pointer - is this known? My pointer does not show up in my screen shots, so I cannot provide an example.

PM sent. I don't see anything abnormal with ice level art.

Yes the location of info box is intentionally displaced.

I tried PM:ing you, but your box is full so I'll add some detail here.

Ice level display activates when a hex is selected, so I used that to prove that a hex is selected even though it does not turn blue. If one presses escape, there will be no ice level displayed.

I did not mean the info box but my standard windows pointer. It should poll at the tip, and usually does except for some times when it selects/polls a bit down and to the right. Like I said, the pointer does not show up in a screen shot. If you happen to know which registry key to change to get it to show up, I'm willing to give it a try. But I can live with the phenomenon, I simply click in the middle of a hex.

Cleared the inbox.

Well, this is a code bug, so thank for the report. After the manual air strike (i was able to replicate it once with AF strike), target structure is not get cleared correctly, so therefore no green hex boundary is not displayed. You can clear the state by fighting next battle of switching to some Air mode and back. Will put it on the list and test to reproduce it.

As for pointer issue you may add some notation on the screen to show the offset. Also notify the zoom level. Map art at some zoom level is "distorted" (original image has to stretched or shrunk), so some variation is possible.
