What to do at start of your turn

Post by VictorCharlie »

At the start of every turn I think it is a good idea to:

1. check the Logistics Phase Event Log Screen (hotkey Shift-E) for any unit withdrawals and commander promotions and casualties.

2. check the Battle Locator (hotkey F11) for any partisan activity and other battles during the other sides turn.

3. Fly all air recon in auto mode (A key) maybe twice to make sure.

Good to get in the habit of doing it first so you don't forget!

4. plan your rail lines if not to close to the front.

5. Assigning your new units to Armes and rail heading them to the front. (This probably causes me action points since you must get in range of the corps you want to attach them to but it helps me keep track of where their going).

Just thought to add a few.  Your quite right VC that good habits are a must to form early. [;)]

I usually do airdrops at the end of the turn, by then most of the soviet airforce has expended its movements and can't intercept.  Plus if you got a deep drive going you can resupply the farthest units.

Also make sure you check the leaders tab of the CR screen for casualties (click on "fate"), as it seems not all leader casualties will appear in the event screen from time to time for some reason. I prefer the CR screen leader overview to the event screen in any case, as it guarantees I don't miss any leader casualties.

Seems like when I wait to do airdrop, they won't do it.

The JU-52 has short legs IMO so you must keep the Luftwaffe forward enough to supply any spearheads you have going.

First thing I do is to check to make sure it is not any later than 1am so I can play another turn.
