Bad move, IRS, you don't know who you are up against! The SOB's wanted $2089.77 but when I got done with them it was down to exactly.........................wait for it........................................... .$2089.77

Apparently, they are kind of grouchy because of the budget deficit thingy. God knows it isn't my fault.

Well 13 going on 200 trillion we all have to give.... don't worry about your bills the lenders will get paid off LOL

Dear Mr. Mandrake;

Please paint your heavily soiled fence immediately or be prepared to report to the Board of director's Meeting on Jan 4, 2011.

Dood. Best thing to do is turn "these people" on one another. Explain that you'd be happy to comply, but need an ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT REPORT on your HISTORIC REGISTRY fenceline. Find (or place) some Himalayan titmouse in your bouganvilla and call the animal rightists. Sell tickets. Problem solved.

Is there any restrictions on what colour you can paint it? Or if so- does it have to be all 1 colour (and which colours would clash the most...........)

On second thought- find some roundup and pay a late night visit to the architectural compliance officers front lawn.

Good idea but do you think they even have a lawn at Berchtesgarden?

By way of disclosure, that isn't my fence but some of the concrete spindle-thingys have almost that much lichen. The main part of the fence is concrete block and stucco and the part under the oak gets limited sun so it has stuff growing on it and oak tannins which give it a look of antiquity. I did paint the steel (wrought iron) portion of the fence because it did have some rust but when they sent me another letter I realized Frau Braun was talking about the pilasters and concrete block portions. At first it didn't compute because I see it as a look of character and antiquity but I now suspect she has never been more than 15 miles from the place of her birth and her family never got National Geographic when they were kids either. Even worse, I will have to slaughter some plants to get to the fence to paint it. I suspect they will win because they can unilaterally levy a fine and they have a lawyer (whom I support with my dues). I would go down there and argue my case but I already made a scene at one of the meetings over their approval of the lot subdivision on the street.

The worst bit is the Board President is really hot. I think she is half-Asian and has a kind of Tia Carrera thing goin' on.

Regretably, the best solution may just be to get out the surgilube and grab my ankles.

OK back to AE and planning for Plan Tango (Plus Size).
At what range again do the Bettys NOT carry torpedoes? And the max range is 17? Same question for the Nells.

Meanwhile, the HOA wants me to paint over the lichen on my fence. Bloody provincials. Do you think the groundskeeper at Stourhead has to deal with nimrods like this?

My wife and I have actually been to Stourhead. Really nice place. Just down the road from Stonehenge[8D][:D]

You have three Netties to take into account.

G3M2 Nell has normal range 15, extended range 18
G4M1 Betty is 17 normal, 21 extended
G3M3 Nell is 21 normal, 26 extended

The first two Netties are available from the start. The third (the G3M3 Nell) is scheduled to come into production in April 1942.

Torpedoes are carried out to the normal range and if an HQ is nearby. Otherwise and at extended range bombs are carried.

The horror!! [X(] [:'(]

Man, after my brief brush with a Neighborhood Association (some years ago), i vowed never to buy another house where i had to belong to one... with your experiences, i am glad i made that decision.

We voted ours out of existence over 10 years ago. [:D]

Are we allowed to have actual, real plans? I thought we had to make-it-up-as-you-go-along.

It also depends on supply level, airfield size and presence of air HQs.

Twice supplies needed and level 3 airfield. Air HQ must have torps in its inventory. G3M3's would be the biggest threat as they have serious range with torps.

There is no doubt about the Air HQ and supply at Noumea. There is some doubt about the kind of shape the Nells and Bettys are in but they will have time to recover.

I went all the way back to June 17. No G3M3's participated in any attacks from Noumea, including anti-shipping.

And about the Oscars, is the Tanna hypothesis correct? Range 12 from Tanna to Nadi.

Affirmative on range Tanna to Nadi is 12 hexes.

The Hayabusa has normal range - clean = 5 with DT = 10. Its extended range is - clean 6, with DT range is 12.

Here is a tentative engagement plan if we are unspotted on our approach and the Japs haven't left yet.

(position 1) would give a range to the carriers of 5 or 6 unless the Japs close range. This would allow 1000 lb bombs on the SBD's and torps on the TBF's plus escort range for the F4F's, correct? Don't know about the Albacores.

It would take us within Betty extended range but at least they wouldn't have torps. I think position 1 would also permit some P-39 LRCAP with drop tanks. Alterantively, the P-39's could be set to escort with some B-26's and B-17's on naval attack to soak up interest fromt eh Zeroes.

Alternatively, We could brave the Nells with bombs and move North of Fiji (position 2)

Albacore range is normal 6, extended 7.

So yes, position #1 at 5 hexes to enemy carriers would allow your strike packages to be escorted by Wildcats.

Mindyou, I still think there is merit in my plan outlines a couple of days ago but that would entail a different configuration of your plan, so I won't push the issue. Your plan will remove most of the Nettie sting but does lay you more vulnerable to the effects of enemy carrier power and reduces the odds for a successful SAG strike against the Nadi beachhead.
