Transfer of Air Units to and from National Reserve

Post by matt.buttsworth »

I read in the forum that people recommonded placing Soviet air units in the first turn to the national reserve to reform, train and recover.

I can see how to send units to the national reserve but how do I get them back?

How can I check what is already in the national reserve?

When is it recommended that I bring them back into combat?

I have not yet mastered the air unit side of things.

You get units in reserve back through the assign menu in air bases, which is also what you use to check the national reserve. together with the regular air group overview in the commander's report screen.

I'd recommend placing fighters/fighter bombers on the map again on turn 2 or turn 3, depending on how long you need to sort out air bases, the same goes for the poor quality level bombers (SB-2's).

Place the long range level bombers in long range air command bases, take the time to concentrate those bases where you want them.

I usually keep IL-2 units in the reserve for a while as they're too valuable to waste in 1941.
