Moving Army Group HQ

Post by CarolusRex »

When moving an AGHQ a little truck picture came up on the unit counter.

What is this truck? Telling that it takes a while to move suplies from the old location to the new location?

Does this impact the other HQ:s?

It means you are moving it by rail. You must be in transport mode (F2)
It's only a Game

OKI Thanks!, it was my first try. Havent needed or tried to move any AGHQ after that. So its no penalties to move a HQ?

If you're moving it the standard way (with trucks), there is a penalty as trucks will be allocated from the motor pool to transport all of the HQ's supply dumps, as far as I know.

So when do you really want to move an AG? The corp HQs need to be within 5 hexes of their units to supply them, but I never see the red square with AGs to its corp HQs.

Hqs don't get supplies from their superior HQs (they ge supplies from railheads), but higher HQs give benefits to sub-HQs within range, but if I remember right from the manual, it is a lot more than 5 hexes range.

yes

Look on the subordinate HQ and it shows the distance to the higher HQ and the max distance to get the benefit.

However, if there's combat support units such as artillery, etc. at the Army or AG level, I think they need to be closer to increase the chances of them sending support. I'm not sure though.
