Bzura Scenario Strategic Transfer

Post by RocketMan »

Vic, I don't want you to think I am picking on you, I'm just pointing out things I think you might be interested in. Now this one is hard to explain, but I will do my best.

I am playing the Bzura scenario as the Polish and I'm trying to use Strategic Transfer for the Polish units. When I select "Strategic Transfer" I am asked to "Select HQ to provide Movement Capacity". Selecting the "List" button brings up a windows box with "Select" in the title bar and the text "Select a HQ to provide CAP pts for strategic transfer" below, with a white selection area and an "OK" and "Cancel" button at the bottom. However, there are no HQs listed in the white selection area of this box. Selecting either "OK" or "Cancel" from this box paints the whole map a uniform shade of gray, the same color used for showing valid strategic transfer locations (see picture below). This color goes away when I select the cancel button.

This behavior happens every time I try to select a HQ with the list button. But when I select a HQ by clicking on it, the green check box is grayed out until I scroll the screen any direction, at which point the green check box becomes active. The first time I select the green check box, the whole screen turns gray, but the gray goes away when I scroll the gray area off the screen and then back on, leaving just the rail network connected to Warsaw gray if I selected a unit to Strategic Transfer on that network and with no hexes in gray if I select a unit to Strategic Transfer that isn't connected to that network (in the western part of the map). Any subsequent time I manually select a HQ and select the green check box, only the rail hexes connected to Warsaw are highlighted (and only if I select a unit connected to that rail network).

All this means nothing in the end, as once I actually get everything to work the Polish have zero rail transfer points available. So for this scenario, perhaps you should just disable the Strategic Transfer buttons for the Polish side.

I also just tested this as the Germans in the Bzura scenario and the same thing happens for them as well, and they don't have any Strategic Transfer points either.

Nope i dont. its very much appreciated it that your report these issues you find!

And the rail issue, though not hindering gameplay, is a definite something i'll will have to adress..

it will be scheduled for the next public beta.

Thanks again Rocketman :)

So is it a bug that there are no RAILCAP points in the Bzura scenario, or is it just a bug that it dont shows that correctly ?

It's a bug that it does show properly.
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty & well preserved body,
but rather to skid in broadside, totally worn out & proclaiming "WOW, what a ride!"
