Planning to grow fangs and claws before bedtime? [:'(]

bah....all i have to do is say "BOO!" and he skitters away. Big tuff Dobbie! Uma is scarier when she's in season.

Well, its sounds like he'd had a rough time of it before you guys came along. I'm pretty sure you'd want your sheets too if youd been treated like he was. Kudos to you guys.

BTW, have you considered just getting another blanket? [8|]

First day of vacation tithe. [:D]

The I want to take vacation, but my clients will not let me tithe. I may stsrt drinking Bloody Mary's anyway.

Is this what awaits GFU? [X(]

I have already made my peace with the idea of not seeing her from February to late April.

December is one of our busiest times of the year with year-end planning, deal-doing etc.
I have been on the phone since around 7 am, stuff comes up constantly. I never really get time off this month ( except Christmas day ). But this is actually good news, you want to stay busy year-round. I take off a few days in the first week of January.

Late January through April 15th is 6-7 days a week , and late August through October is almost the same. But you got to make hay while the sun shines. Get those billable hours while you can ! [:)]

I'm not nice.....i read war books. Just last week a drunk girl started screaming at me across the bar.....something about being a Commie lovin war mongerer. (was reading Glantz's Stalingrad triology) I didn't even notice till the bartender told me the reason he had to 86 her was because she was yelling at me. (I recalled vaguely her going off about something but assumed it was a lover's spat.....the joy of impaired hearing in a noisy bar!)

She really started to yell at you just because of a book you were reading ? What a dolt. Glad the Bartender threw her out. Her pals should have shut her up.

Yup. Reminds me of an argument that I had with a book store worker once. Gave me a bunch of crap about a biography I was buying on Colin Powell. Guy just starts going off on how 'all he knows how to do is kill people'. Wasn't having any suggestions of mine that, perhaps, this may be a noble warrior who was a countryman and a pioneer for African Americans in leadership positions.

Some people aren't happy until they can decide what you should read, think and believe. Goes on on 'both sides'.

Oh, and a good morning SLR tithe...

The scary thing is that this is hardly the first time something like this has happened. This is probably at least the 6th incident down the years, and each time all i was doing was sitting reading a history book. The bartenders at my regular got used to joking about how much of a "troublemaker" I was. My favorite incident remains the a-hole who came down, saw me reading, stepped in front of me and gave me a Nazi salute and a rousing "ZEIG HEIL!"

Usually i don't get annoyed...but that time something snapped. I later walked up to him, bent down to his ear and said...."By the way.....Hitler's dead."

He was so pissed off that he ran up behind me as i returned to my seat and started going off about how i was probably a rabid Iraqi war supporter.

2nd favorite incident was a drunk guy who noticed me reading a 'war book' and started quizzing me, only to keep going off about those "Baztards in Olympia" (aka....our legislative body that governs our fine state)

He got 86'd within 20 minutes of rambing at me, and the bar in general.

All i was doing was sitting there reading a book.....honest.

Tonight the Doberman's gonna lose the battle of the covers.
In your dreams Log Boy!.

Like your horses. Gonna have to get out the camera. My sister has a couple of quarter-horses, Bert and Freedom (ok, ok, so she's from Alabama, but where the heck did 'Bert' come from?). They aren't trained out for dressage or anything, just trail, but just nice, alert, wanna-go, doofy, horses that would just as soon nip your butt as look at you, unless you bring them a 'sweet'. They trot real nice and are real stand up and perky. Bert is great with obstacles; just enough hesitation so's you can anticipate. Otherwise, just an arrogant, pissant, what-have-you-fed-me-lately, kinda horse thing.

Think I'll go start a short scenario against the AI.

When youre up to your ears in work, you'd kill for another 30 minutes of gaming time. Now that I have it, I cant decide where to start. [:D]

I think you are right. And such folks come in all shapes, sizes, and belief systems. I am still a bit amazed at your and Nik's stories though.

Navy Air has a weird tradition like that "wetting down". Actually their are two versions. The regular Navy (And Air) have a tradition where you either have a big party, or buy everyone you know a drink when you get promotted (Known as a "wetting down" party). The other belongs to Naval Air alone. On qualifing (almost any kind of qualifing for flight crew) you get litterally "wet down". It can take many forms ,varying from being thrown into a lake or ocean, to being hosed down by the crash truck. That's a little bit of a challenge in Brunswick Me or Iceland in the middle of winter.[:D]

Yeah, offering your opinion in conversation is one thing, offering it unsolicited is another. That said a part of my college experience was apologizing for unsolicited opinions offered the night before.

Rather than have anyone ever comment on my choice of reading material , I always slip a cover (Black balistic cloth) over my books if I reading in public. But you really should have spoken to that salesclerk's boss. Regardless of store or employee politics, money is money. You can't sell books (or anything else) to people that you are insulting.
