Having been a fan of WiR since whenever, reading the WitE forum has finally broken me down. Going to have to buy it.
It's a challenging game. Quite a change of pace from Witp I'll say.
One thing I do find refreshing about it is that I'm not constantly hitting reference sites tying to find out what some type of ship does or what some unit's historical activities were like I do in Witp all the time.
When I see "Pzjg-I" or "StuG III" I know exactly what they did and were for. [:'(]

Means you've taken all you can have right now. I think if you click on it it will tell you how many days delayed.

I bought it, loaded it up, and doinked around with it for several days. It looks like a very good game, probably thrhe best, for that theatre. The study of that front has occupied most of my attention for many years. I bet I have had a try at most of the good games, board and computer, at one time or another. I think I finally just got tired of trying the North, South or straight ahead gambits. I found it hard to get back into a land based mindset. I have become addicted to pushing all of these ships and planes around [:)]
But in a well designed Russian front game, I firmly believe the war is won or lost by the end of the first summer.

Hadn't thought of that but I've run out of reasons not to buy it. [;)]

I'm not nice.....i read war books. Just last week a drunk girl started screaming at me across the bar.....something about being a Commie lovin war mongerer. (was reading Glantz's Stalingrad triology) I didn't even notice till the bartender told me the reason he had to 86 her was because she was yelling at me. (I recalled vaguely her going off about something but assumed it was a lover's spat.....the joy of impaired hearing in a noisy bar!)
She really started to yell at you just because of a book you were reading ? What a dolt. Glad the Bartender threw her out. Her pals should have shut her up.
Yup. Reminds me of an argument that I had with a book store worker once. Gave me a bunch of crap about a biography I was buying on Colin Powell. Guy just starts going off on how 'all he knows how to do is kill people'. Wasn't having any suggestions of mine that, perhaps, this may be a noble warrior who was a countryman and a pioneer for African Americans in leadership positions.
Some people aren't happy until they can decide what you should read, think and believe. Goes on on 'both sides'.
Oh, and a good morning SLR tithe...
That reminds me of an incident when I was 13 years old, and bought a book on WWII German combat aircraft during a school trip. One of my classmates saw it and asked, in all seriousness, "are you a Nazi?"...

Rather than have anyone ever comment on my choice of reading material , I always slip a cover (Black balistic cloth) over my books if I reading in public. But you really should have spoken to that salesclerk's boss. Regardless of store or employee politics, money is money. You can't sell books (or anything else) to people that you are insulting.
[:D]
Someone doesn't like what I'm reading? Then they can **** off. Although, to be fair I've never had anyone (apart from Mrs Dixie) comment on any of my book choices. Even if I thought someone would complain I wouldn't cover it up.

I've got that song in my head now. It's actually making the rest of the day go by faster.
RE: THE THREAD!!!
Morning Coffee tithe... feel like death warmed-up this morning, as I finally game-down with the stomach-bug that's going around. So Mrs Divepac and Dog are going to the family Christmas dinner without me, as my Doc advised me to stay at home. Mrs Divepac is leaving in a few hours as it is a four-hour drive, and I will be on my own for four days. What am I going to do with all my spare time... oh wait I don't have any spare time as I'm a WitP player.

I do it in self defense. If they can't read the title, then I won't be charged with assault, after they say something that so annoys me that I try to stick their head up their @$$ (where it obviously belongs). [:D]
