Game hanging after Enemy General killed

Basically as the thread title says. Twice this evening whilst clearing the Bialystok pocket as Germans I have received the message that a Soviet General has been killed, a different one on each occasion, and then the game seems to freeze. On both occasions I waited for over 10 minutes but nothing! Had to crash the game and restart. Any thoughts.

Some messages stay up until you press space bar. After space bar pressed it should continue.

You can also click on the message block and it will cycle to the name of the replacement which then needs to be clicked (or space bar) to proceed
