Moving Fast But Disorganized

Post by AZKGungHo »

I'm trying out the Road to Smolensk for the first time, and decided to really go for it. As you can see from the pic below I'm moving fast alright, at least faster than I've ever gone before. Question is, now to stay organized? It's hard for me to keep my corps, Armies, etc. organized.

Any hints, and how do you think I'm doing over all so far?
I can't get the picture to show up - here's the link if interested.

Holy sh#t! On turn 3 you are already adjacent to Smolensk? I took Smolensk on turn 10. Assuming you can keep those units supplied, you seem to be doing very well indeed.[X(]

Thanks Henri - I am amazed myself, but am wondering about supply too. And where to go from here. I'd love to head for Moscow - but think it would be wiser to get some infantry up there and widen out the base of my attack. Haven't decided yet!

I don't know about the AI, or what level your playing but that is impressive indeed. Problem is there are a ton of Russians around and your flanks are pretty spread out. Might work out against the AI but in PBEM you would be open to attack. Your supply levels have to be low I would think, as far from the rail head as you are. Be a little while before you should advance.

I'm playing against the AI at the basic level, so things aren't all that hard. But it's a learning experience for me. Yes, my panzers are pretty far out there, but then that's what they have to do to win. Only question is are they too far out on a limb?? Time will tell!

You're so far ahead of schedule, you can afford to "catch up" the rest.

Here's how it all ended up. I must say it was a blast, and showed me several things.

1) the AI does well but needs some help.
2) I can't seem to keep my corps & Armies organized for anything!
3) I LOVE this game!

Here's the map

HI Joel,

I had to go look! It was easy, which probably explains why I did so well huh?

But it was still fun and the AI kept me on my toes more than a few times.
