UNP.

That means that I get to wish all my Thread Brothers love, health and prosperity on this fine morning. May your only defeats be in PBEM.

Might get some snow this afternoon. Hardly a 'white Christmas' in the traditional sense, but as close as I've ever gotten to one.

Time to go try playing the whipping boys....erm...Soviets in WitE. [:D]

Let it snow!...in North Carolina? It's a rare white Christmas. (Well, whitish, so far.)

The stockings have been hung with great care.

The young 'uns are nestled into their beds with visions of sugarplums dancing in their heads.

Gifts are wrapped and under the tree.

Family went to Christmas eve mass. We're ready for the chaos of the morning.

Oh, and Singapore just got liquidated.

Yes, a Merry Christmas, all...[8D]

Earplugs are ready. Vacuum cleaner and trash bags are standing by. Alarm set for 5am (which is probably 5 minutes after the kids'll wake up).
Very prescient, comrade Red mouse.

Kids up at 4:30am, into the presents by 5:00am. The scene befalling the area in front of the tree was gory, just plain carnage. Most of the damage was done by 7:00am.

Trash bags broken out from dispensary. Didn't have the ear plugs on hand, my fault.

Lunch ham is in the oven. Mashed potatoes and veggies to accompany.

Noteworthy gifts from Mrs. Chickenboy: A "Dr. Suess goes to War" book, a wartime (uncensored) Looney Tunes DVD and a "Private SNAFU" compilation. Very thoughtful.

Man, some of the Dr. Suess wartime cartoons was hardcore. [X(] Let's just say that Goebbels wasn't the only propaganda expert out there...

Ah, the wonders of computers. Boot drive on the home box just died. [8|] Should have known. It was starting to make whiney sounds when it started up.

Guess we'll see how well Backblaze works.

It's the quiet before the storm here.  The house is clean, the 24 pound turkey is in the oven, my wife is not yet home from work, Pavarotti is belting Christmas tunes, and I have fresh, hot coffee.  [:)]

The madness starts around 1200 today, and should  be over by around 1800.  After washing a ton and a half of dishes, I'll grab a rum drink and toast my dearly departed father who laughed at everything and never had a mean word to say about anyone.  He left us 19 years ago today, and I will give thanks for the wonderful years we had together.  [:)]

I will also be giving Christmas Thanks for all of my strange, funny, knowledgeable, witty, and overall fantastic Thread Brothers.  I get to know you as individuals and as a group, better and better each year, and I hope it continues for many more years.  [8D]

Merry Christmas, my Brothers!  May you all have a wonderful holiday, full of friends, family, love and joy, and may you always have full torpedo tubes and enough AV support (unless I'm playing against you)!  [8D]

That's wonderful Mike, especially the last line. [:D]

Merry Christmas everyone. If yours is half as good as mine is so far, you're having a great day.

I think the hit of Christmas so far has been was the Anti-Monkey Butt Powder that my son got in his stocking. [:D]

We woke up to about 2-3" of new snow this morning. I looked out the bedroom window to see a set of footprints on the roof. [X(] They were a bit small for reindeer though....

We're having some REALLY cold nights this Christmas weekend, with temps dropping to around -20degC. Glad to be inside.[X(]

We woke up at 0700 with my three year old nephew Thomas thumping across to see my mum. When he was asked if Santa had been and left presents he told us that Santa hadn't left any for Josh but Thomas would give Josh half of his presents [:D] There was excited dancing over some of his presents and plenty of wows! I'm looking forward to Josh being old enough to get that level of excitement from Christmas, I fear that this was my last 0700 Christmas day start for several years...
