Disappearence of HQs with attached air units

I have read that early in the game certain soviet corps HQs - I read mechanized corps HQs but what about infantry HQs - disappear.
That is good as there are too many Soviet HQs but what happens if you have any air units attached to disappearing HQs?
Where do they go?
Or should I make sure there are no air units on HQs which may soon disappear?
if so please say which HQs disappear so I can remove air units.

I don't believe there are any air bases that are assigned to disappearing corps HQ's in 1941, only to military districts that morph into fronts.

The only HQ's that vanish are Infantry, and Mechanized Corps HQs. The cavalry corps HQs are still around in september of 41. Air craft are assigned to air bases and the airbases are assigned to Air Command HQs and they don't appear to vanish. As I have not a single infantry or mechanized Corps HQ left and have never had an Air HQ vanish I don't think you need to worry.

The Military District HQs becoming Front HQs don't affect air command HQ or air bases either so no worries there.
