Earplugs are ready. Vacuum cleaner and trash bags are standing by. Alarm set for 5am (which is probably 5 minutes after the kids'll wake up).
Very prescient, comrade Red mouse.

Kids up at 4:30am, into the presents by 5:00am. The scene befalling the area in front of the tree was gory, just plain carnage. Most of the damage was done by 7:00am.

Trash bags broken out from dispensary. Didn't have the ear plugs on hand, my fault.

Lunch ham is in the oven. Mashed potatoes and veggies to accompany.

Noteworthy gifts from Mrs. Chickenboy: A "Dr. Suess goes to War" book, a wartime (uncensored) Looney Tunes DVD and a "Private SNAFU" compilation. Very thoughtful.

Man, some of the Dr. Suess wartime cartoons was hardcore. [X(] Let's just say that Goebbels wasn't the only propaganda expert out there...

We woke up at 0700 with my three year old nephew Thomas thumping across to see my mum. When he was asked if Santa had been and left presents he told us that Santa hadn't left any for Josh but Thomas would give Josh half of his presents [:D] There was excited dancing over some of his presents and plenty of wows! I'm looking forward to Josh being old enough to get that level of excitement from Christmas, I fear that this was my last 0700 Christmas day start for several years...

We were never allowed to disturb my parents before 07:00. However, our stockings were hung by our beds and they were full of stuff. That kept us busy in our rooms for 30 minutes or so.

I still remember the year my brother and I got battery operated 50 caliber machine guns. They shot plastic bullets[:)][:D]

I sincerely hope everyone's Christmas was as nice as ours. Everyone was home. We had 10 people at the dinner table last night.[8D]

Dinner was a batch of my wife's fantastic lasagna with a lot fixings to go with it.

Hope everyone had a great Christmas day~!

Ours was wonderful, wife got much hello kitty items, Robes and Slippers, with a few pieces of jewelry mixed in.

We gave her sister a new blue ray player and some movies to start them with.

Room mate got much coco products and a pair of balls, (contact juggling ones) and parts for new computer.

I got a Helicopter, only a 4 " one but fun. A new grill :)
And a choice of a new War Game, still debating.

But the big part of the day was dinner, Small turkey 13lbs, Large Standing Rib Roast 13lbs, all the fixes including cranberry sauce in the shape of a can.

Hope everyone got and gave great things, and the only things hurt were wrapping paper and digital pixels.

Have a great new year everyone, and til we meet again, take care of each other.

My son and I just checked the weather. Driving conditions for South Carolina and North Carolina are listed as extremely hazardous for later today as a snow storm is pushing through from west to east. He has decided to stay an extra day. Although he will have to use a vacation day everyone will be here an extra day[:)]

So on Thursday (the last day of work before Christmas) I go in to say Merry Christmas to Mrs. McDull before going home. Now, I'm 6'6" and a bit over 230 pounds, and she's 5'2" and around 100 pounds, but when she goes in to hug me (as we do) I get HUGGED. Right arm around the back of my neck, left arm under my right arm and SQUEEEEEZE.

She's small, but in excellent physical shape, so she just cuts loose. Me, I'm kinda scared to hug her back as hard, so I'm kinda sore when I leave...[:D]

I love this girl, but she is kinda strange sometimes. On Wednesday morning, it's snowing heavily and about -20degC when we go to work, and she's wearing the wrong kind of boots (about knee-high but not enough wiggle room for the toes), so she says she can't feel her feet when we finally get to the hospital. I suggest calling Mr. McDull and getting him to come give her a foot massage, and she visibly blanches and says, "ooh no, I don't like that sort of thing at all". First woman I've known who didn't like to get her feet rubbed...[&:]

Mud hit on the turn after the one I posted, but I still managed to secure the last hex of Leningrad and got the Finns to clear out the few Soviet fortified zones, so the isthmus is empty of Red Army troops. That'll probably be all I get to do.

Here's one of the few things I don't like AT ALL about WitE. This is the jump map as it looks during the Soviet AI's turn. Gee, I wonder where it's concentrating the bulk of its forces?

Daughter got her GHDs, so she's happy, son got his TV for his bedroom, so he's happy. wife got a load of Corrie stuff so she's happy.

I got Series 3 of Ashes to Ashes, Clash of Arms Convoy and Highland Park. Australia are all out for 98, England are 157 for no loss and the Bears are on tonight. I'm happy.

Back to the Future, Dad's Army, Black Ops, Blood Bowl a couple of Sharpe DVDs and a mother who was happy to have all her sons and grandchildren there at Christmas were the highlights this year.

The lowlights were Clare unwrapping the Twighlight version of Scene It? and the New Moon DVD [:@] And Josh feeling poorly for the first few days, luckily he started recovering Christmas Day afternoon.

Back home now and I've either got a night shift or a trip to Cyprus in my immediate future. Neither option is all that great really...

P.S. Simon, I'm ready for a turn whenever. But if you want to wait until the New Year then I'll manage [;)]

Good luck with that. We have the daughter's BF coming over. We all have our crosses to bear.
