Screen size

Post by darken92 »

Hi

Just recently purchased a new touch screen PC and installed WITP AE. I am not sure if I am asking this correctly but the game has re sized to the screen, thats fine. What it looks like is large, so I can not see more hexes, just the same ammount only bigger.

Is there someone way you can set your screen to show more of the actual map? Hope that makes sense.

When I get home I can post details if someone needs anything.

Thanks

The easiest is do look at the whatsnew file that came with the patches. There are command line switches to do what you want.

you can change your shortcut for example: "C:\Matrix Games\War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition\War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe" -f -px1680 -py1050
px and py contains your required resolution.
As Nomad writes, all details are in WhatsNew.pdf.

Just one minor caveat. The WhatsNew.pdf (from which mikkey obviously cut and pasted) contains a minor error in that the dash in front of the py1050 is an 'em-dash' which is different from the normal dash in front of the px1680 (look carefully and you can see it above) and will not work. It's better to type the command line in yourself but if you do cut and paste, make sure you replace the 'em-dash' with a normal dash character.

Also the wide screen function works (and only works) for all the screen resolutions supported by your hardware. These can be found under your 'Display Properties/Settings' tab.

Have fun,
Cheers,
Reg.
