How is weather modelled in the game?

Particularly, forecasting and raid planning?

Weather over the target area was of particular interest to Bomber Command and 8th AF; late-war, 1409 Flt would carry out daily Met Recce flights, but still things went badly wrong - i.e. the Nuremberg Raid.

Is this aspect of the Bomber war modelled in the game?

The Nazis entered this war under the rather childish delusion that they were going to bomb everyone else, and nobody was going to bomb them. They sowed the wind, and now they are going to reap the whirlwind.

There are 6 rectangular weather zones for which the player is provided a forecast.  This is a simple percentage of cloud cover which affects the ability of raids to locate targets, bombing accuracy, raid form-up (sometimes delayed, sometimes scratched, sometimes the bombers go and the escorts are late or fail to show), interception probability and probably other things too.  What the actual weather is during the day varies from the forecast, although it is usually pretty close.  There are no Met Recon flights.
