digging in (another fabulous newby question)

Post by Scotters1 »

I read p. 204-205 and I hope I understand this. I really don't need to do anything to dig in, just leave the units alone, and if possible add construction brigades, and then the units automatically dig in. Is this correct?

And then creating fortified regions are different. They represent units created to just defend a fort, like the maginot line, correct?

Yes your correct, but its engineers not construction unit that help dig in.  Fortified regions also dig in but can't stand up to any kind of assault without a combat unit in place.  Most people use them to dig in a position then disband them when a combat unit arrives to take their place.  You save yourself some manpower and a few weapons types this way.
