Australia can be a tough place at times. Down here in Victoria they have just declared an extreme fire danger tomorrow, South Australia have also declared a catastrophic fire danger due to an expected 40+ degree day yet Queensland is undergoing extensive flooding covering an area bigger than France and Germany combined (according to the Queensland Premier).

The floodwaters at my home town of Bundaberg has reached 8 metres which was only just short of the 8.4m in 1942 which was highest recorded this/last century. (Normally the brides across the river are 10m above the water...) Emerald is expecting 14 meters. Fortunately this is only a human tragedy without loss of life.

Pictures from all over the flood area available at http://www.couriermail.com.au/news/gallery-e6frer9f-1225976776773?page=49

Cheers,
Reg.

Is GFU taking her frustration with dog out on you , Nik? [:D]

No, she did take it out on the pitbull this morning after it chewed a rug. Someone got a hurt real bad..........

latest discovery on the Dobbie is worrying.....he growls when you hug him. We don't think it's an aggression issue as its contrary to his disposition in all situations we've noted (people and animal). We think it's anxiety.....the dog appears to be a little claustophobic. Still....when a big Dobbie starts growing in the vacinity of your face.....you tend to get a little concerned. Dog definately has more trust issues with men than women. We continue to work on the dog while openly wondering if the prospective new Dad will be able to handle the thing.

meanwhile the addition has overtaxed our lung systems.....he's detoxing so bad the dander level has us both heavily conjested to the point where we have to sleep in seperate rooms due to "noise" issues while breathing.

someone gonna get [another] bath real bad..........

How do you get a bath "real bad" Nik? More spurs and riding crop? [:'(]

No....its called picking up 80lb's of struggling Doberman and tossing him into the bathtub for a serious scrub down. His arrival has truely thrown the house into chaos. We already have 2 dogs and a cat and the battle vs. pet dander and dust was already equivilent to Stalingrad in November. Dobbie's arrival was equivilent to Operation Uranus. GFU and I are so conjested....and in my case......i am weezing/snoring so bad from it all that i've been kicked out of the bedroom.

Oh and just for Termie.......GFU informed me today that she was told by another co-worker that odds are the dude taking the dog will flake out since he's had 4 dogs in the past year alone. We are so screwed.

Happy (&(()! new year. (oh well...at least we got some snow........i'd have enjoyed it more if i wern't fighting so hard to stay awake while driving this morning thx to 3 hours of sleep)

Who gave you the bird? [:D]

My daughter and wife are animal nuts. The daughter bought the bird while I was deployed. [8|]
What type of bird?

She's a cockateel. The stupid cat put her paw in the cage. I don't think she'll do that again. The bird went after her and latched onto her paw. [:D] Wouldn't let go either. Pretty comical.

You do live in Sylvester and Tweety Birds house. Where was Granny at the time?
