Production question

Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: The German-Soviet War 1941-1945 is a turn-based World War II strategy game stretching across the entire Eastern Front. Gamers can engage in an epic campaign, including division-sized battles with realistic and historical terrain, weather, orders of battle, logistics and combat results.

The critically and fan-acclaimed Eastern Front mega-game Gary Grigsby’s War in the East just got bigger and better with Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: Don to the Danube! This expansion to the award-winning War in the East comes with a wide array of later war scenarios ranging from short but intense 6 turn bouts like the Battle for Kharkov (1942) to immense 37-turn engagements taking place across multiple nations like Drama on the Danube (Summer 1944 – Spring 1945).

Production question

How is production handled in WitE? Are you able to change what your factories produce?

I don't believe so. But I've never played the soviets. You can move them out of harms way, but they produce what they produce on a fixed schedule.

I could be wrong.

You're not wrong. Can't change factories or do R/D like WiR/WiTP. (Used to convert all the T-34s to KV-85s in the WiR and S/F.)

While you can't change what factories produce, you can create units as the Soviets using action points. Just make sure you have enough in the pool to fill up the unit, and keep in mind it will take at least 3 weeks to fill its TOE, and more time for it to gain experience and be combat ready.

I usually like total control, but this game already give you a ton of control. While it would be fun to have all the factories produce T 72s, and Mig 27s, haha, I think production is done well. And you still have control of moving factories as the Ruskies.

I do hope down the road that total control will be an option - for the number crunching, detail fanatics and customizing freaks like myself.

1) Factory control (able to change and expand) as allowed in WITP
2) Creation of units on the German side
3) Creation of unit types. (allow players to create their own TOE in units) to include captured equipment
4) Assigning leaders to division units
5) Have actual German Regiments within the divisions and not generic 1/2/3

Anyone know what happens to the captured equipment that the axis allies accumulate? Do they have units that eventually use it?

I too believe that the German and Soviet player should be able to have total control over production, quantity and kind of equipement produced, as an option in game parameters.

That would be nice. Especially if R&D is factored in as well. The Germans are severely limeted by their original OOB, especially in the air.

This discussion has been ongoing for as long as this forum has existed and the result is that is is not going to happen in this game and probably not in the others to follow.

Bummer... The prod and R&D was a favorite part of WiR for me.

I'd love to see it as an option.

Won't stop me from buying though.

Off to go find some of the older threads on this...

I'd be happy if we could just assign supply priorities to factory types. Right now as the Axis in a 41 GC, some of my Panzer factories seem to be producing way below capacity because they can't seem to get enough supply.
