Just a quick important note:  It appears games saved using one version of Diverse Worlds may not be compatible with the next version.  At least, this seems to be happening on my computer.  However, starting a new game is fine.  Please keep this in mind when installing a new version of the mod.  Nobody else has mentioned this problem, so I don't know if its universal, or just my save game has become corrupted somehow, let me know if you find anything out, cheers!

This isn't happening for me.
I started a game before I even discovered this thread and only had my own HW2 shipset and as you released additional sets I just dumped them into my customisation folder and loaded it up to see them.

Setekh, did you rename any of the shipsets, did you use my race file? The race file is exactly the same as the default except it changes the shipset number column to assign the new ships to races, this is what I assumed the save game wasn't liking. But, nobody else has reported a problem, and I update the shipsets a lot as I'm working on them to test them, perhaps all this changing around messed up my save somewhere.

Well as long as nobody is having problems, thats cool [:)]

Hehe, I'm struggling at the moment, now I've used up a lot of the material. But you will be happy to know I'm working on three sets at the moment, and I've caught the circle bug. One set has rings, one has spheres and one has saucers [:D]

On that note, here is a Quameno mothership shining in the night:

No shipset renaming no, I'm using my own races.txt file but the only differences are the changes to the Human part where I've renamed it and the fact that your Human shipset I've assigned to the Kiadian for now who also use shipset 0. I should probably sort that out eventually.

Hi guys, here is a preview of the Quameno so far, as I was hoping to have them uploaded tonight, but they aren't quite ready yet [;)]

I'm 100% happy with the Capital and Cruiser, they have no clear cockpit area because its assumed the crew are in the disc/half disc sections. However, I'm now not happy that I didn't follow the same theme with the Colony Ship and Construction Ship. Also, I think the Destroyer and Escort look fine, but again don't fit in with the other ships of their size, especially the Destroyer. So, I'm going to rework some of the ships so that all large ships (capital, cruiser, colony, constructor and resupply) are disc based in some way or another without cockpits, and all other ships have no disc sections sticking out of them (like the Destroyer).

Hopefully, tomorrow afternoon/evening the finished set will be available for DL. [:)]

Hey guys!

The v7 update with the Quameno shipset is now available for DL.  From now on, with each update there may be tweaks or replacements for ships in some of the previous sets I made, because as I'm sure you've gathered I'm really fussy and not happy with a lot of the ships/bases.  In this update it was just a tiny tweak to make the engine trails on the Mortalen Cruiser look less wussy, for such a beasty ship [:D]

I hope you like the Quameno, as with most the sets there are things I want to come back and change at a later date.  The Quameno already had one of the best sets in the game, so I'm sorry if I ruined it for you [:D]  There were however some big problems with the original set, many duplicates, big blurry spaceports, even the Capital and Cruiser were the same but with different exhausts.

Enjoy!

Hi Woodman,

I like the latest shipset Quameno. One thing though, the resupply ship is exactly the same as the spaceports. Is this correct?
Huh?

Another great set WoodMan.

It looks intentional that the resupply ship is the same as the spaceports, it has an engine exhaust. It can make sense, some races might have just fitted some engines onto their spaceport design.

lol, that was just me being incredibly lazy.  For some reason these ships took longer than normal to make and it was the last ship I had left to do [:D]

I want to keep the shipset release moving at this fast pace, but when I'm done or along the way as I said I'll fix the little bugs, repeat ships being one of them [;)]

Looks great. As I said before, especially the capital and the cruiser models look really nice and unique. Keep 'em coming.

BTW. Just got back from holidays and back to DW. Will try this out tomorrow but I've have couple of questions. I assume there's no problems using this mod with existing saves. The mod just replaces the the original ships and nothing more complicated.
Also, I use custom soundtrack when playing (My Music Theme). The way I understand it, the most simple way to use Diverse worlds and my musics together is to just copy the music files to Diverse worlds customisation folder.
Haven't used any "big" mods before but I think it should work like this.

Cheers guys!

J HG T, I'm not sure about saved games to be honest.  My saves are not compatible with other themes.  So, if I start a game with one theme it will not load under another.  However, Setekh doesn't have this problem, his saves work fine after theme changes.  Also, over 50 people downloaded the previous version of the mod and not one person complained about losing a savegame.  So basically, the answer is just try it, and please let me know what happens [:D]

On the same subject, I have a question for Setekh.  How do you change to the new version of the mod.  Do you have the other mod installed, and then install the new one and change theme in game?  I've actually just been renaming the same theme on my computer over and over again, maybe thats whats causing the problem.

All I'm doing is dumping the new ship family into my custom/shipimages folder and then editing my races file to set the new set to the race it was made for. That's it.
