What does AMT and RSVD mean?

When you go to cargo and you see AMT and RSVD, I am guessing that they stand for Amount and Reserved. So I take it that Amount is what I have actually in the cargo bays, and Reserved is what I need, so I can build what is in the the build que?

Am I correct or does it mean something else?

I believe that is correct. Reserved also includes amount reserved for transportation (freighters inbound). It's sort of cute, when you have foreign traders around you can even see what they're going to buy.

this has been discussed in a couple of other threads also but it's still not clear enough, i've made some quick tests in the beginning of the game with the basic one colony, some mining bases and ships and a dozen of freighters

all my freighters went out to two mining bases to colect solely argon...my colony did not have this at all but it was not reporting it as reserved either (btw, all freighters went and carried small amounts of argon that could habe been hauled by a single large freigther)

on the mining bases the argon was indeed reserved and the amount reserved increased with every new freighter starting inbound from the colony to the mining base; so we can safely assume that reserved (among other things) relates to the reserved cargo for outgoing resources

but even after my first freighter delivered the argon to the colony no reserved amount appeared...altough there were still 5 other freighters inbound with more argon

as i mentioned in other threads i'm still on vanilla 1.0.6.0, not sure if this same behavior occurs in the expansion...but having just to start a game it should be pretty easy to test / reproduce

Data, you've got to upgrade to Shakturi. There's so many great features in the expansion and given how much you seem to like DW, you'd get a big kick out of them all.

I believe Reserved is what has been purchased by other Empires (but not yet picked up) and what is ear-marked for projects (new Ships, Stations, Constructors, etc.).

How do you see what foreign traders are going to buy?

I haven't done any detailed tests like some others here but this is my understanding. If you look at the cargo for a colony etc. you will see a flag in front of it. If it is your flag the Amount and Reserved can be different. If it is another empire's then the two are always the same, which seems to show that that empire has reserved that amount.



If you look at Polymer here you can see this - my empire is the blue flag with white symbol.

This is under the pre-Christmas RotS beta patch, not sure if vanilla DW shows it like this.

it does, it's easier for when more than one empire is involved
the ideea is to find this out for when your own colonies are trading between them
