How long before resupply?

Post by Fred98 »

I click on an artillery unit. It is out of ammo. Supply is open

How do I determine how long till resupply of that unit is complete?

You won't have an exact time given anywhere. You can estimate when a supply convoy will arrive by looking at past supply runs in the unit's log. You will see "supply requested" messages, "supply dispatched", and "resupply arrived". Check the times on these previous occurances, and you can get an idea of when they'll be resupplied. e.g. say the last "resupply arrived" was at 10:00, the last "supplies dispatched" was at 08:00, and the "resupply requested" before that was at 07:00. You now know that the total cycle time is about 3 hours (Approximately). If your unit last requested resupply an hour ago, you know that you have something like 2 hours to go.

That is very approximate, each run will vary. Even if not requested, supplies are automatically dispatched at 06:00 and 18:00 (sometimes just the latter if the other side has air superiority). But if stocks get low, units will request emergency resupply.

Also, check the base supporting the unit, and make sure it has what you need, and convoys aren't 'suspended' (usually due to enemy interference). If the base is out of ammo, you have to wait for it to get it's shipment before it can send anything out. This happens with the Germans a lot. US bases are usually well stocked.

Finally, if the base unit is short on vehicles, you may not get as much as you'd want. You have to sometimes be careful on how much you use your artillery, because it can burn through ammo fast, again, especially as the Germans. Many scenarios start with the the German artillery out of ammo, along with low/no backup supplies at the base. These scenarios are the ones starting on Dec 16th, and simulate the situation where the Germans have completed their preliminary bombardment prior to the start of the scenario, and the scenario starts with the ground troops moving out immediately after. All those artillery units look tough on the map, they just only get a dribble of ammo.
