Happy Thanksgiving! (with update)

From the first clash at Manassas to the epic confrontation between Lee and Grant, the Brother Against Brother series will bring new levels of historical detail and realism to the battles of the Civil War. This regimental-level game, created by the developers of the award-winning Forge of Freedom, builds on that game’s acclaimed tactical engine, adding scrupulously researched orders of battle, high-quality map graphics, command and control rules reflecting the numerous challenges faced by army commanders, and plenty other features. Beginning with The Drawing of The Sword – which recreates the pivotal opening battles at Manassas , Wilson ’s Creek, Mill Springs and Williamsburg – Brother Against Brother lets you refight the Civil War from start to finish.

Happy Thanksgiving! (with update)

Post by Gil R. »

We at WCS want to wish all of you a happy Thanksgiving, and a happy beginning to the holiday season in general.

Since Thanksgiving is partly a holiday for crass commercialism it makes sense to give you an update. Unfortunately, "Brother Against Brother" will not be out this year, mainly because we had to devote substantial programming and graphics time to other projects, and because I myself have been busier with my regular job than expected. As of now the game itself is in reasonably good shape, and most of the feedback from the testers concerns interface and balance issues, rather than crashes and serious problems of that sort. Map research is 100% done and our graphics person (Pixelpusher) will soon be able to work on finishing the maps, to the exclusion of all other projects. This, in turn, will let us post some screenshots finally. OOB work still goes on, with the Wilson's Creek OOB now being all done. Next I'll implement the improvements I've made to the Williamsburg OOB that I've made since we started testing that scenario. So, overall, good progress is being made, but we now have to look at a first-quarter 2011 release date. We'll keep you posted...

Good news: it will run full screen at that resolution.
