Ok I bought it so now what do I do?

Command Ops: Battles From The Bulge takes the highly acclaimed Airborne Assault engine back to the West Front for the crucial engagements during the Ardennes Offensive. Test your command skills in the fiery crucible of Airborne Assault’s “pausable continuous time” uber-realistic game engine. It's up to you to develop the strategy, issue the orders, set the pace, and try to win the laurels of victory in the cold, shadowy Ardennes.
Command Ops: Highway to the Reich brings us to the setting of one of the most epic and controversial battles of World War II: Operation Market-Garden, covering every major engagement along Hell’s Highway, from the surprise capture of Joe’s Bridge by the Irish Guards a week before the offensive to the final battles on “The Island” south of Arnhem.

Besides read the manual what should I do first? How should I setup options? Which side should I play first? I want to play that german tank commander in the movie "Battle of the Bulge", is that song from the movie BotB in this game "Panzerlied"? I like that song.

Just jump in. Click on HQs. Then click on orders. Place the waypoints. And see what happens. :) Learn from there. Do that a little. Then when you have screwed around with that, read parts of the manual on giving orders. And build. :)

I wouldn't do anything fancy. Just give your regimental and maybe battalion HQs orders. Move them around.

Later you can group units to do the same tasks and such.

That's how I learned. The game isn't as complicated as it might seem.

Though I am still having a few problems. But not many.

LOL! [:)] Check also the video tutorials that come along with the game. I found them very instructive.

This is what worked for me:

1. Watch the video tutorials
2. Read the manual while concentrating on parts that you were unclear on during the tutorials or were not covered in the tutorial.
3. Watch the video tutorials while playing that first tutorial covered in the videos.

Limit yourself to commanding regimental and battalion level units...don't try to manage smaller units until you are comfortable with the mechanics and how commanding units work. Commanding at a higher level will feel more like you are watching the game instead of playing it IMHO.

Play 3-4 scenarios before passing judgement. For the first scenario or two after the tutorial scenario, do not concentrate totally on winning or doing well...just play around, explore and try stuff.

For me...to be honest...I did not think this game was for me until around the 4-5th time I played. Since that point I have been enjoying it more and more as I get comfortable with the system. This system is very different than any operational game I have ever played and it took awhile to "take" and appreciate it.
Kind Regards,

Harry
