For the Rodina and for Stalin. Art v Cory

Post by Aurelian »

Only a week into the war. And yes, it finally hits me. No provication. No accident. No way to gloss this over. War. The Fascists have invaded our peace loving Soviet Union. Where did we go wrong? Did they not need the pact signed by our respective foreign ministers? We did not provoke them. Even when they overflew the border, we did nothing. When they sent troops into Romania, we accepted their explainations.

Why did I not listen to my aide? He actually read Mein Kampf. He tried to inform me of how they wanted living space in the East. Every chance he got. It got so that I sent him to a gulag. I had to find peace somewhere, what with the Moscow Trials, the purges of the military, collectivization all crushing me.

He's probably, at this very moment, saying "I told you so." The very thought is like an itch I can't scratch. Perhaps when Beria gets here, I'll have a word......

But never mind that for now. The members of the Gosudarstvennyi Komitet Oborony will be arriving soon. I must have my cook prepare some tea and sweetmeats. Unless I don't like what I hear. Then I'll have Blokhin prepare something more suitable.

After an all night meeting, the following was decided.

1: All Corps HQs would be abolished.

2: Factories will be evacuated from threatened cities. (Kiev and Minsk have been.)

3: Front commanders will retreat where necessary to conserve forces.

4: The Air Forces will attack enemy units or cities as needed. (Some units and Ploesti have been.)

For Stalin? [&:] Just do like me and send him to the Gulag. YOU are the boss now! [8D]

Have fun and good luck [:)]

And don't worry about the initial German blow... you have many many strategic reserves behind.

EDITED: Aurelian, I think you should avoid 4. There is an air bug. So attacking Ploesti would be unfair (from what I have read). The next patch should fix this.

Thanks. I'm reading your AAR. Good stuff.

We're going to upgrade to 1.02 for the next turn.

Unfortunately, I already did #4 twice. The first raid did some damage, the second nothing.

But the airbases are running east at top speed.
